(Right) Gordon Murray was presented a special award for being Seaforth's most senior competitor at 91. His main game is snooker. Peggi and Carlie Perkins were given an award for organizing the games for the past 14 years. Scottish bowlers visit Seaforth club The Seaforth Lawn. Bowling Club welcomed visitors and lawn howlers from Scone, just outside Perth. Scotland. Ron and Shirley Ferrier and son-in-law John Anton played in a local jitney and also competed in the Etuc Tournament on Wednesday. Fourteen greens were in play and first place went to John Anton and Shirley Ferrier of Scotland. Second was- Lee Ryan and Carol Carter of Seaforth. Third place went to Jack and Marie Muir of Seaforth. Fourth was Jerry Doney and Gladys Cook of Stratford. High two games were Erich Matzold and Jean Lunn. Sixth went to Hap Hall. Lucknow and Jean Shillington, Seaforth. Seventh was Dave Gray and partner of London. while Dorothy Mero and partner of Goderich were 8th. Consolation prize went to Kevin and Janet Rumig. Speaking with our greenskeeper after the Seaforth l-awnbowling tournament John Anton remarked. the Seaforth Greeds were much better than any he had bowled on in Scotland. Friday evening at 7 p.m. saw the Seaforth Greens filledfor optional singles with Neil Beuerman in charge. First place went to Peter'McFalls of Exeter. Second was Jack Muir. Third went to Fred Tilley. Fourth to Dennis Schmidt, Goderich. Fifth to Ivan Newton. St. Marys. Sixth to Brenda Empey. Clinton. Seventh to Gerry Doney, Stratford. Eighth to Bob Thompson, Exeter. Ninth went to Neil Beuerman. Tenth to Larry McClellan. St. Marys. Eleventh to Len Boreham, St. Marys and consolation prize went to Dennis Rumig of Goderich. The evening concluded with refreshments. Saturday evening saw a number of people out to howl from the ,Broome reunion. Larry Broome was in charge and everyone appeared to enjoy lawn bowling. In out of town tournaments Fred Tilley and Dennis Schmidt of Goderich won ,first at Brussels men's pairs. Jack Muir and Bob Doig placed 4th. At Stratford on Sunday Lee Ryan and Carol Carter were 4th in the Joanne and Wayne Young tournament while Jack and Marie Muir were sixth. Tuesday evening July 27 will be a potluck supper at 6 p.m. with bowling after and hostess are Bessie Boyd. Olive Papple and Helen McKenzie. On Sunday, July 25 there will be a mixed or ladies trebles at the Seaforth Club sponsored by Fred and Betty Tilley at 10:30 a.m. Good bowling to all.. . Local seniors win at district games The Seaforth Recreation Department will be hosting a Computer Camp for children ages 8 and up, in the mornings from Aug. 9 to 13 at the Seaforth Public - School. Come create fun projects such as your own letter and envelope sets, bookmarks. How about using your Microsoft Publisher skills to create personalized calendars or birthday cards using a scanner to add family photos. Come create a video product for you to take home such as an All About Me project using the fun program recommended for school curriculum. Hyperstudio. Senior Shurfleboard Senior Shuffleboard is held at the Seaforth and District Community Centres Wednesday afternoons from' 1:30 to 4 p.m. Come out and enjoy an afternoon of games and social. Senior Games winners The Seaforth Senior Games Committee would like to congratulate Gwen Scott and Sid Scroggs who placed first in swimming, Les and Betty Leonhardt, who placed first in bridge and Ken Lingelbach and Joyce Matzold, who were third in shuffleboard at the District Senior Games in St: Marys. Gwen Scott also placed first in swimming in Chatham at the Regional Games and Sid Scroggs was second.
