Maplewood will host Senior Games crokinole
The month of April got off
to a great start with a lively
afternoon of music with
Gladys Van Egmond and
Elgin Nott. Special guest of
the afternoon was Elgin's
son. Glen. who was visiting
from out west. He joined in
to play the bass guitar with
the hand.
Our crokinole matches with
our volunteers will be over
for the season after the Senior
Games Crokinole to be held
at Maplewood Manor. May
10 at 10:30 a.m. We have
certainly enjoyed the
morning competitions with
them.
.Residents and staff of
Maplewood were asked to
submit a picture of
themselves when they were
in their younger years to be
entered in a baby contest.
After many guesses, Leonorc
Southgate and Elgin Nott
were able to identify the most
Saturday's
duck race
a success
Legion News
On Saturday the successful
duck race was held. The
winners are listed elsewhere
in the paper. Thanks to
everyone who supported this
event.
Sunday. nine members of
the Ladies Auxiliary to
Branch 156 attended the
Auxiliary Zone CI
Convention held at
Wingham Legion. Comrade
Jim Brown. Branch 156.
Seaforth was the Sgt-at-
Ar4ns for the parade and at
the meeting. All 12
auxiliaries were represented.
Provincial Chairman Ontario
Command, Comrade Judy
Stinson was the guest
speaker.
Sunday. May 9 a Sunday
dinner for the public will be
held at 4:30 p.m. until ?
Desserts and help will be
required for this event.
Wednesday, May 5 the
Ladies Auxiliary General
Meeting will be the
nomination and election of
officers. Come out and elect
your officers for the coming
year.
May 8th. 1945 victory in
Europe. VE Day.
At the going down of the
sun and in the morning we
will remember them.

Queensway News
At Queensway, volunteers,
staff and family members
are making the most of the
balmy weather and ensuring
that as many residents as
possible arc outdoors to
cnjoy it. A sure sign of
spring was the appearance
of cur lawn furniture and
umbrellas.
The Hensall Presbyterian
Women provided assistance
and pries at hingo Monday
afternoon.
Tuesday's church service
was led by Pat Dobbs. Lay
Reader of the Exeter
Anglican Church: Choir
members were Louise
Rcthcr-Kopp and Edna
Sims. Maude Colcnian •
accompanied on the piano.
Residents had a good timc
mixing up a hatch of their
favourite raisin scones and
also a pan of chocolate.

Nursing home resident
council met Friday morning
and rest home operations
