Deadline to pick apart
amalgamation proposal
delayed until April 14
The dates have been
changed. every 't' crossed
and 'i' dotted, so now a draft
municipal amalgamation
proposal will he picked apart
by six participating councils.
Councils for the villages of
Zurich, Hensall, Bayfield and
the townships of Hay,
Stanley and Tuckersmith
must determine whether to
accept or reject the proposal
to amalgamate as a new
town, yet unnamed, on Jan.
1, 2001.
At the last- steering
committee meeting, councils
were given a deadline of
Restructuring
March 30. But last week,
after an all -councils meeting
in Brucefield, the deadline
was delayed until April 14.
The date was changed
apparently because of a
public meeting scheduled for
March'25 by Dashwood
police village trustees, said
Hay Township clerk Janisse
Zimmerman.

special "chuck the puck" event between periods raised more funds and gave goal scorers a chance 'to win some prizes.
