DO YOU BELIEVE IN
SANTA?
"Come on Alyson you're
going to be late for school,
again!" cried Alyson's older
sister Michelle.
"Coming," barked Alyson,
"I'II be right down!"
Alyson was having a had
day. Shc slept in, couldn't
find anything to wear, and her
hair was a mess.
Finally Alyson gave up on
trying to make her hair look
the way she wanted it to look
and ran downstairs to eat
breakfast.
"What took you so long?"
asked Michelle. "You know
that if you are late for school
one more time, mom's going
to have to talk to principal
Guider!"
"I know, I know. I just wish
that I could have more time
in the moming to get ready."
"I could wake you up
earlier if you want."
"No that's quite all right,"
replied Alyson.
On the way to school
Alyson met up with her best
friend Anne. As the two girls
walked to school they talked
about Christmas.
"Did you know," Anne'
asked, "that Christmas is only
3 days away?"
"Yes," replied Alyson. "But
I don't believe in Santa any
more so it won't be very
much fun. I get to spend
Boxing Day at my
grandmother's house with all
my little cousins. They still
believe in Santa so I'm not
supposed to ruin their
Christmas by telling them
that there is no person named
Santa."
"I don't think so," stated
Anne. "I heard that Santa was
coming to school today."
"You don't believe in Santa
still? We're in grade 4!" said
Alyson shocked to hear that
her best friend still believed
in Santa,
"Well let's just say I had a
close encounter with
someone last year," mumbled
Anne.
At school the two girls said
their goodbyes and headed
for class. Just as Anne had
said, Santa was sitting at the
front of Alyson's home room.
"Alyson do you want to tell
Santa what you want for
Christmas?" questioned
Alyson's teacher Miss
McKay.
"Sure." replied Alyson. Shc
thought that if she said things
that weren't on her list and
her family didn't know she
wanted or her parent's told
her she couldn't have than
she wouldn't get it.
"I would like...." Alyson
started, "a movie of any kind,
a new puppy, and a
trampoline." There, she
thought, no one knows 1 want
those things except 'Santa'.
When school was out
Alyson told Anne what she
had said to 'Santa'. Anne said
that she shouldn't have said
the things that her parents
told her she couldn't have
because she would get them
now.
When Christmas finally
came around Alyson and her
older sister dug into all the
presents that surrounded the
. tree. Alyson's first gift from
%aha o,f eitvs was
Toe !vadat?
"Come on Kevin, we're going to miss
it," said Scott. "We're going to miss the
parade." —
"We have plenty of time" Kevin said
getting up from his chair to put on his
coat. Scott was allready wearing his red
snow suit. Kevin pulled open the door
and his seven, year old brother Scott
took off pinning. "Get back here!"
Kevin yelled and ran after him. Scott
suddenly stopped and tumed around.
With a devilish grin he threw a snow
ball at Kevin and hit him in the head.
"Ha, ha, ha, Scott laughed as he ran
down the street.
"You want to play rough do you?"
Kevin said running after Scott. He
caught up to Scott and picked him up in
a bear hug. "We're going to the parade
and your going to be good."
"And if I'm not were coming back,"
Kevin said after letting him out of the
bear hug. After an hour or so the parade
was over and the boys headed for home.
On the way Kevin threw a snow ball at
Scott for revenge for what Scott had
done earlier. They arrived home and
made hot chocolate.

Santa was a movie.
"Lucky guess." Alyson said
under her breath.
Her second gift from Santa
was a puppy. Alyson could
hardly believe her eyes. Then
another larger gift from Santa
was a trampoline. Alyson
asked her parents if they got
her the stuff from Santa, but
they said that they didn't
recall buying a puppy.
From that day on, Alyson
believed in Santa and when
she went to her
grandmother's house she
joined in on all the
conversations that were about
Santa.

THE CHRISTMAS HUG
One day a little girl named
Linda was playing with her
brother outside when all of
the sudden Kyle, Linda's
little brother started yelling
"Fire!: Linda ran over to him
and asked "Where? Where's
the fire Kyle?"
"It's over there." Kyle
pointed to their tree house.
"Get down." Linda
screamed and ran to call the
fire department. When they
arrived, the fire wasn't very
big because Linda had
grabbed the fire extinguisher.
The fire department rewarded
her with fifty dollars. Linda
decided to split the money
with her hrothcr. After all he
did spot the fire. Kyle took
the money gratefully.
Linda decided that with the
rest of her money she would
buy Christmas presents. For
her father she bought a new t -
shirt. For her mother she
bought a porcelain figurine.
Most of all she decided to get
her hrothcr Kyle a
firefighter's hat. Of course it
would just be a plastic one.
On Christmas day they were
all happy, but Linda was the
happiest because her hrothcr
had given her the perfect gift
- a hug.

SANTA'S LITTLE
HELPER
Christmas was coming and
Santa had a big problem. The
crane had broken down so
they couldn't load heavy
toys. Santa sent 3 pugs to go
get help. Pugs are travelers
that help Santa.
Far away the pugs starched
for help. On their coats was
their names Mog, Mug and
Gus.
"Stop", yelled Mog the
leader, "Guess what were
lost," said Mog slowly. Then
Mug had a brainstorm. "Let's
call our special friend
Snowball with our cool
watches that Santa gave us."
"Good thinking, now we
can find help!" cheered Gus.
Mog started a fire and told
them that Snowball could lift
heavy things and might help
Santa.
So then, they called
Snowball with a big flash.
Snowball came. He was a big
foot. He took them hack to
Santa and helped Jilt the
heavy toys. Santa could give
all the toys to the little kids
for Christmas.
