The Community Care Access Centre for Huron (CCAC)
provides health and support services to the residents of Huron County in
their hurries, schools and long term care facilities. Two of such services are
Nursing services and Homemaking and Personal Support services. The Roard
of Directors of the CCAC is pleased to announce that it has recently awarded
contracts for the provision of these services as follows:
For Nursing services, three-year contracts have been awarded to
Community Nursing Services. Belgrave and to Saint Elizabeth Health Care.

For Homemaking and Personal Support services, two-year contracts have
been awarded to Town and Country Support Services, Wingham and to Saint
Elizabeth Health Care. Markham (an office is 10 he established in Huron
County)
These agencies are both not-for-profit. charitable organizations. Community
Nursing Services and Town and Country Support Services have been long-
standing service providers with the CCAC and the former Huron County Home
('.are Program Saint Elizabeth Health Care will be new to Huron County, and
has an excellent reputation of providing high quality. client -centered services
in many other parts of the Province of Ontario, including London -Middlesex.
`We are pleased to be working once again with two of our current providers
and look forward to developing a working relationship with Saint Elizabeth
Health Care and together serving the citizens of HuronCounty,' stated Carole
Taylor, Chief Executive Officer of the CCAC.
These contracts were awarded as a result of a recent Request for Proposals
(RFi') process When they were created by the Ministry of Health, Community
Care Access Centres were mandated to award service provision contracts
through a managed competition process such as RFI's or tenders which
facilitate a fair and equitable competition for contracts. In this recent
competition, proposals were evaluated based on quality standards and
criteria that encompassed client services, human resources, financial
management arid organizational program as well as on price. The quality
component of the evaluation was weighted as eighty-five percent (85%) and
the pricing component was weighted as fifteen percent (15%) of the total
score for each proposal
"The Roard feels quite comfortable and confident that the evaluation process
utilized produced valid and well -substantiated recommendations for the
award of these contracts," stated Charles Baxter, Chair of the Board of
Directors nl the CCAC for Huron.
l'he contracts awarded as a result of this competition are slated to begin on
April 1 1999." explained Darlene Bogie, Clinical Services Manager and RFT

One of her favourite memories was
of her childhood pet and friend, her

husband died a few months later
she moved to Maplewood Manor in

years. Jennie greatly appreciated

Wesley Jacob Coombs
Dec. 24/95 - Nov. 29/97
Last year on November 29, our
world fell apart.
How do we ever put it back
together when the centre piece
is now missing?
It has been 1 year without your
hug.
12 months without your wet kiss.
52 weeks without holding your
chubby hand.
365 days without hearing you
call us Mommy and Daddy.
And yet, we close our eyes and
feel your soft cheeks.
We remember your smell of
soap and baby powder after a
bath.
We hear your laughter and
remember your antics.
We see your sparkling blue eyes
reflected in your baby sister's
eyes.
We hold your memory close to
our heart and long for you each
day.
Love you always and forever,
our little buddy
Mommy and Daddy
COOMBS: In loving memory of
Wesley Jacob, who passed away
November 29, 1997.
One year ago this tragedy forever
changed our lives,
And to this day we still ask why?
We know that you're in peace in,
Heaven above,
And always know that you are very
much loved.
But there is so much Wesley that
we miss about you,
And here are some things to name
a few.
I miss the boy with the great big
smile,
And your blue eyes that sparkled all
the while,
I miss your little jelly belly that would
jiggle,
And I miss seeing you play with
"Oren" and hearing you giggle.
The last words you ever said to me
were 'Bye Bye Aunt Aine-
And to you Wesley I say `until we
meet again".
Love you forever, Aunt Elaine. Very
sadly missed by all your aunts,
uncles and cousins. 46-47x1
