trip to Medicine Hat
Don and Rita Moylan have
recently returned from a trip
to Medicine Hat, Alberta,
where they visited with their
daughter, Marianne, son-in-
law Jamie Rodgers, and
grandchildren, Kiandra and
Miquela Rodgers.
They also met up with son
John Moylan from Picture
Butte, Alberta, and son, Mike
Moylan from Spring Coulee,
Alberta. Both towns are near
Lethbridge, Alberta.
The weather was good, just
a small amount of snow
which soon disappeared.
They enjoyed a good visit
with their family there. John
Moylan has since finished
work on the farm- at Picture
Butte and has gone to
Vancouver where he hoped to
meet up with Kelly Van
Bakel.
Roland Savoie from Haut
St. Simon, New Brunswick,
visited with Bill and Faye
Albert and other friends in
the area.
Nancy O'Reilly, Sandra
O'Reilly and Renee Jekl went
to Toronto where they met up
with Debbie Melady from
Ottawa. The ladies enjoyed
an evening at Yuk Yuk's and
took in the Toronto -Ottawa
hockey game.'It was a good
time out.

MacLean hosted the
November meeting of the
Kippen East Women's
Institute at Northcrest Apt.
Grace Drummond,
president, read a poem "Oh
God Forgive Me When I
Whine".
Eight members and two
visitors answered the roll call
with a luxury item our
parents didn't have.
Grace Eyre reported visiting
a couple of former members
who still stay in touch.
Grace Drummond gave a
report on the Area
Convention held in Kirkton
which has 12,227 members.
The week of Feb. 14 is to be
WI week.
Hilda Payne reported on the
Shuffleboard
Last week's senior
shuffleboard winners in
Seaforth were:
Ladies: Jean Lunn - 380,
Helen MacKenzie - 347 and
Bea Stoll - 398;
Men: Peter Taylor - 330,
Bruce McLean - 308 and Joe
Van Dooren - 306.

It was reported that Father
Mooney's well was finally
found at the rectory in St.
Columban. It is 50 feet
straight north of the kitchen
window.
Several tables of euchre
were enjoyed at the
"Community Builder Project"
evening on Sunday. Toddlers
played with dolls and dress -
up, while UNO, shuffleboard
and crokinole were also
enjoyed. Next Sunday
evening is the last evening
for fun and socialization in
this project.
Helen and Dennis Muir and
Steven, Stratford, and Dennis
and Pat Barber, London; Joe
and Lynn Walsh, Kelly and
Matt Walsh, North York,
visited with Ron and Mary
Ryan on the weekend.
St. Columban Parish will
celebrate the First Sunday of
Advent on Saturday evening,
Nov. 28 at 7:30 p.m. at the K
of C Hall, St. Columban.
Euchre begins tomorrow
(Thursday) at 8 p.m. at the
restaurant in St. Columban,
selling well
district board meeting. We
are asked to volunteer to
work and bake for the quilt
show next April 8-11, part of
the plowing match festivities.
The cookbooks are selling
well.

a -couple of poems: "Guesses"
and "Why I Love Kids."
Ruby Triebner read
"Momma's Quilts" and
Phyllis Parsons gave courtesy
remarks. Lunch was served
by Mona and Rena. The
meeting closed with the
national anthem.
Man killed
A 20 -year-old Mt. Forest
man was killed in Hullett
Township early Saturday
morning when he lost
control of a car on a "slush
covered road" and hit a
hydro pole.
Andrew Parker was
pronounced dead at the
scene, and passenger
Dwayne Beer, 22, was held
for observation overnight in
Clinton hospital.
Ontario Provincial Police
say the single -vehicle
collision happened on Huron
' County Road 4, just north of
Londesboro.
