The /food Foods last held its first 441 meeting on April 14 at the home of Hildi. Bach. Elections for council were held. It consists of: President, Lindsey Powell; vice-presi- dent. They discussed the impor- tance of healthy eating habits, then completed a mini -quiz to determine what "track" our own fast food style in on. They also checked the side of fiye cereal boxes to sec what the sugar content and dietary fibre were. The meeting ended with everyone enjoying "party popcorn" which was made in the. microwave. The club decided to call.itself The Fast Micro Machines. The second 4-H meeting ' was' held on Tuesday, .April 21. The meeting opened with ' thc 441 pledge. The roll call • was to name two conve- nience foods available at the grocery store. Macaroni and cheese -made from scratch. from the box and from frozen was judged by the group. Following the judging, best . before dates and ingredients of the foods were discussed. Before the Meeting ended, the group made vegetable chowder ,after completing a -true false qui(.. On April 28 they held their third meeting. with a discussion about meal plan- ning. They made up their own menu and .also looked at how to be -organized when work- ing in the kitchen. Batch cooking and leftovers. were also discussed. At the end of the meeting. they prepared a "Fast Fixin' Salad" and "Thousand Island Dressing."
