In other news: The Grade 2/3 students are finished with their plants and experiments and arc now in the process of getting their hooks ready for Author's Day next month. Right now they arc working on their rough copies. Jodi McIntosh was the lucky person who got to take Coke and Pepsi, the black bunnies, home for the weekend. Grads 4 students are work- ing on probability and chance in their math activities, and the Grade 3/4s are doing tu>vel and reading activities. Three of" the teachers are attending- math workshops dealing with the new math curriculum. • Grade I/2 students arc doing research projects on endangered species. They arc also in various stages of pub- lishing hooks. Kindergarten - students worked on the sound "sh" - showers hring flowers. They cut out pictures and put them in their scrap hoi>ks. Kindergarten registration took place on Wednesday. The Graefe 3y led the young r Walton by Patty Banks 887-6860 children around the class- room and introduced them to the centers. So far there have been four SKs and seven JKs registered for next year. Lou Maloney and Ken Preszcator took first place at the euchre games at Walton Hall. Ruth and Bill Jenkins were second place winners with Delores Howatt and Margaret Anderson taking third place. George Love took home the men's lone hand prize, with Eiitieen Wickie winning the !Ales' lone hand. The •winners of the 50/50 draw were Millie Johnston, Elsie Mogk and Charlie Johnston. This Sunday was "Camping Sunday" at Duff's United Church. A group of Camp Bimini famies came to do the service. They started by call- ing for morning exercise in' thc form of jumping jacks, but relented in favor of finger exercises. The meeting opened with the 4-H pledge then Rob read the minutes from the last meeting. The roll call was "IP you were a chinchilla judge what would you look for in a show ani- mal?" Leaders discussed the chin- chilla terms the judge will be using. They were the strength of the fur, colour, density: veiling and conformation. They then demonstrated how to comb a chinchilla propctly and handed out the combs. Member's then played a bingo game that was thought up by the leaders. The meeting ended with maple sugar cookies and popsicles. The mit meeting will be held at the Walton Hall for the chin- chilla show and sale on April 25, 1998.
