Word games enjoyed
Residents at the Queensway
Nursing and Retirement
Home enjoyed challenging
word games and lots of
singing and exercise during
"Fun and Fitness" throughout
the week. Hensall Legion
Ladies Auxiliary were also in
for exciting games of Bingo
on Monday afternoon, and
everyone was a winner.
Rev. Boyachuk of the
Emmanuel Baptist Church in
Exeter officiated at Tuesday
afternoon's church service.
Belva Fuss accompanied on
the organ. Special thank you
to the girls who gave special
readings and music.
Several nursing home resi-
dents enjoyed a leisurely
breakfast of pancakes and
bacon during Wednesday
morning's "Breakfast Club".

On Thursday evening
"Diners" was well attended
and everyone stayed for the
birthday party following the
meal. Residents sang, tapped
toes, and danced to the music
of Marie Flynn and the
Huron Strings.
Coming events include:
Harmony Kings in Concert at
the Seaforth District High
School on April 4; Christian
Reform Singers on April 7;
and Diners followed by
flower arranging with Kerie
Sue Kyle on April 9.
Residents forecast weather
Weather forecasters at
Maplewood Manor were cor-
rect when they predicted
March would come in like a
lamb. Sandy Pepper was the
lucky winner of the contest.
Paul Daillancourt enter-
tained residents in March
with several selections played
on his violin. Everyone
enjoyed his one man band
act.
Residents are becoming
very skilled at the game of
crokinole. There is great
competition with Beth Pryce,
Thelma Preszcator, Barbara
Scott and Peggy and Charlie
Perkins.

burning shed were accommo-
dated in the nearby barn on
the former Kerr farm.
Fire broke out shortly
before five o'clock and with-
in minutes the Targe shed was
a mass of flames. Firemen
fought to contain the fire
within the building, so that
the barn would burn itself out
so as to minimize the danger
from sparks.
The building collapsed an
hour later, but hoses from the
pumpers continued to pour
water on the burning mass
until late in the evening.

St. Patrick's Day festivities
got underway with a great
afternoon of Irish music with
Francies Band. Jim Delaney,
Lou Rowland, Tom Melady,
along with Frances Melady,
sure know how to bring out
the Irish in everyone.
Marian Rose also delighted
everyone with a selection of
Irish tunes played on the
piano.
Pub Night, complete with
green beer, was the perfect
way to end the St. Patrick's
Day celebration.
Thinking caps were tied
snug as residents prepared
themselves for a good old
fashioned spelling bee. They
had the most fun trying to
spell shishkabob and hallelu-
jah.
