will be heritage museum
Late last year, the Bruce County
Heritage Association purchased
113 acres of land near Paisley. The
site is destined to become a heritage
museum that will house a display of
antique tractors, antique machinery and
equipment, horse-drawn machinery,
antique vehicles and the artifacts, acces-
sories, lore and literature relating to
Bruce County.
The development of the property will
be staged into six phases, and completed
as the necessary funds become available
through fund raising endeavors, dona-
tions etc.
Once again the Association will hold
its annual raffle tractor draw. This year's
restored tractor is a 1950 farmall model
Super A. The draw will take place at the
awards banquet on Oct. 21.
On April 18, a clean up day (Arbor
Day) is planned for the newly acquired
property. Volunteers will be removing
old wire fences, etc, so anyone wishing
to lend a hand For the day, bring your
hammer and staple puller. Meet at the
property, 1 1/2 miles south of the Paisley
at 9 a.m.
A "Sign Unveiling Ceremony" will be
held on May 9, at 2 p.m.
On the same day the Association will
kick off their "Buy An Acre" fund rais-
ing campaign. Support may be in the
form of monetary donations or the dona-
tion of antique equipment and artifacts to
be displayed at future steam and antique
shows and help make the future museum
display.
Another accomplishment for the
Association was the purchase of world
wide web site on the Internet in earlier
this year. This will make it possible for
the Association to advertise and promote
activities and events world wide. E-mail
