Hospital food
system changes
The eight hospitals of
Huron and Perth Counties a
"will be implementing a
patient -focussed food ser-
vice delivery system" over
the next 18 months.
CEO Bill Thibert says it
will improve service to
patients while decreasing
costs.
A press release notes the
hospitals "committed to
eliminate at least $3.4 mil-
lion from their administra-
tive and sup[port services.
"Food services was one of
the services investigated for
program consolidation and
cost savings."
"Our challenge was to find
a balance between quality
and cost effectiveness. the
press release continues.
• "Intensive analysis led us
to a centralized management
approach with rethermalized
food carts in each food ser-
vice department. Retherm
carts are then transported to
patient care areas."
