October was a busy month
October proved to be a very
busy month for residents of
Maplewood Manor.
Sunny skies made the day
perfect for watching the fall
fair parade. Residents were
quite taken with the enthusi-
asm of the youngsters as they
paraded along the street.
Residents enjoy gathering
around the piano Sunday
afternoons for hymn sing led
by Mary Cardno. Residents
also enjoyed the music of
Bill Gibson and Marion
Rose.
Thanksgiving was celebrat-
ed in the traditional way with
lots of turkey and stuffing.
Decorative pine cone turkeys,
given by the Friendship
Circle of the Presbyterian
Church gave our table a fes-
tive look.
Betty Harris and Barbara
Scott have crafts well under-
way at Maplewood. Wait till
you see what we have in
store for our Christmas
bazaar.
Residents are keeping their
fingers nimble playing croki-
nole. The competition with
Charlie and Peggy Perkins,
Beth Pryce, Bessie Boyd and
Valma Preszcator is a great
challenge.

Missouri where they had a
fabulous time. I asked if they
would go back and Val
answered "ycs, and they
would take thc kids". Thcy
saw Bobby Vinton and heard
Shoji Tabuchi play his violin.
They went to the '76 Music
Hall' and heard the country
and western group called,
"Pierce Arrow". Thcy got to
take an 80 minute tour in
what is called, "the Duck". It
is an army amphibious
machine that holds about 20-
25 people. So they were in
and out of water and saw thc
beautiful countryside. Val
said that she loved the Ozark
Mountains.
The Walton WI will be

Father Salvador, Pastor

After carving pumpkins,
residents were prepared for a
great Halloween party with
the Huron Strings. A big
thank you to all who came -
the costumes were out of this
world. Residents especially
enjoyed the "little visitors" in
the evening.
Our next party will be held

Wednesday was our big day
as auxiliary volunteers held
the annual craft and bake
sale. Because of the dedicat-

was a resounding success.
Due to the teachers' strike we
even had some young stu-
