Loonie Landscapers learn about plants Meeting four of the Loonie Landscapers was held at Jen Smith's residence. We talked about different zones that certain plants are able to grow in. We then ventured out into Egmondville to judge first, second and third for all the lots. There was a variety of houses mentioned for many different things: variety of bushes, lawn orna- ments, attractive, organiza- tion, etc. When finished the group went back and told who we picked and ate ice cream for a snack. The Loonie Landscapers' fifth meeting was held at Te - Em Farms near Bayfield. One of the workers gave us a guided tour to teach us about everything held in every one of those 11 hot and steamy greenhouses. When the tour was finished, we went to Pine Lake for a swim and chips and pop. Meeting six was held at Ashley and Arnie Nigh's house on August 11. We dis- cussed the achievement night and decided that it would be held on August 20 at Kendal Carnochan's residence. After that was figured out. we talked about environmen- tally friendly ways to kill the bugs that are eating up our flowers, trees and vegetable plants. Lawn mowers were then talked about because there are many ways that a child can be in,tured when someone is mowing the lawn. The group then went out- side to play a game of "base- ball". You would stand at home plate and the pitcher would ask you a question. If you answered correctly, you would get a single, double, triple. or even a home run. When finished we ate Timbits and had juice. Seaforth club well represented in tourneys Seaforth lawn bowlers have been well represented in out- of-town tournaments this past week.
