The Huron Expositor, 1997-08-13, Page 5Photos by Dav l Scott Up, up and away! M.L. Quipp Building Co. Ltd. of Monkton made recent repairs to the steeple and roof of First Presbyterian Church in Seaforth. Using a huge rented crane from Wingham, workers Steve Hudson and Cory Illman hoist up some strapping which was being placed directly overtop of the old shingles, some of which were damaged by a recent lightning strike. The entire7roof of the church was redone with decrabond roof tile, a per- manent, newer roofing material, according to Mery Quipp, owner of the roofing renovation company which has done repairs to St. James Church in Seaforth and two churches in Goderich in recent years. Paint work was also done to the First Presbyterian Church. Work started on Thursday and was expected to be completed by yester- day.
