BUTT: In loving memory of our
dear Dad, Keith Gordon Butt, who
passed away April 14. 1979.
They say there is a reason,
They say that time will heal,
But neither time nor reason, -
Help the emptiness we feel.
Remembering you is easy,
We do it every day,
Missing you is a heartache,
That never goes away.
To us you were someone special,
What more is there to say,
Except to wish with all our hearts,
That you were here today.
Lovingly remembered and sadly
missed by daughter Lori and son

Kim Lee scored the win-
ning goal in overtime to lead
the Central West Juvenile
Girls Broomball Team to a 3-
2 win over Newfoundland for
the bronze in the "8" divi-
sion at the Nationals in
Montreal on the weekend.
Quebec III won this year's
gold in the "A" pool at the
championships by beating
Quebec II, who won it all last
year.
Ten teams took part, split
into two divisions of five for
the preliminary games. Each
team played the others in its
division once. Central West,
with a healthy contingent of
Seaforth and area broom-
ballers, finished with one win
and four losses so went into
the "B" pool for the finals
where they lost 1-0 to
Manitoba in their first game
before the overtime win over
the Maritime team that gave
them third place.
Central West beat New ,
Brunswick 5-0 in the prelimi-
aries, but lost 3-0 then 4-0
o two of the Quebec squads,
tin
hen 3-2 in overtime to
askatchewan.

Tract to open soon
An interim opening of th
Morris Tract is planned fo
May.
A press release from a
executive committee meetin
of the Friends of the Morri
Tract notes the Nature
Conservancy of Canada now
owns the Goderich-arca prop-
erty and "is working towards
a lease agreement with the
Ministry of Natural
Resources and Ontario Parks;
and with local consultation to
establish acceptable usagc
and protective measures."
The Tract remains officially
closed because many trails
are still impassable after the
big storm in 1995, and safe
re -routings aren't yet in
place.
The various groups
involved are busy setting up
"interim accepted add prohib-
ited uses, preparing appropri-
ate barriers and signs, and
clearing and marking safe "W

"It appears that confining temp
all public activity to marked welfa
trails provides maximum inclin
safety to both users and the the t
ecosystem," the press release says
states. Janet
Snitching appears to be
popular in this province.
Between October 1995 and
November 1996, Ontario's
welfare fraud hotline
received 27,801 calls. More
than 18,000 of these were
fraud allegations, subsequent-
ly referred to social assis-
tance offices for further
investigation.
In a press release last
Wednesday, the Ministry of
Community and Social
Services states that to date,
1,267 social assistance cases
have been either terminated
or had benefits reduced, sav-
ing about $8.5 -million, and
about another 5,000 cases
remain under investigation.
