THE HURON EXPOSITOR, July 24, 1994-11 will `clean up'Gasoline not a areas, says MP two streets." "They prefer residential zoning to vacant lots well- established with weeds," according to planning com- mittee minutes. "Some con- cern was expressed regarding the necessity of conducting a noise abatement study and the impact such a study might have on development proceeding in a timely man- ner." Gasoline is not a luxury in rural regions such as Huron - Bruce that take in a large area where public transportation is virtually non-existent, says correspondence from MP Paul Steckle that Seaforth Council noted and filed at its July 9 meeting. Earlier this year the federal government announced an inquiry into high pump prices for gas. • Laser treatment of facial veins Veins on the face and nose - commonly referred to as "broken blood vessels" are a common problem in people of _all ages. It is seen more frequently . in rural areas because people in these areas have generally had more time outdoors. thinner. The face veins are not really broken at all. They are veins.that have always been there and are just more visible as the skin ages and gels Face veins can be a source. of embarrassment for some people because of the assumption that people with face veins drink too much. This just isn't - so. The real rause is exposure to years of sun, wind. cold and smoking all contribute to this condition. Previously. these -veins were treated by sclerotherapy injections. This treatment was effective only about 50c/ of the time. Now with the Krypton Laser the treatment is completely effective. The Krypton Laser emits a yellow beam that works directly on the blood vessels. Results can be immediate. This new laser unlike older ones doesn't char or bruise the skin. The patient can generally return to work and activities immediately. It is a safe treatment with virtually no complications. The .Loramar Centre for Cosmetic Medicine staff stress that these face veins can be eradicated but that to prevent new ones from forming it is important to have preventative skin care through the use of glycolic acid treatments on the skin. The glycolic acid treatments thicken the skin and make it healthier and when this happens the veins don't show through. If you would like to have your face -veins treated please call the Loramar Centre for Cosmetic Medicine for a full consultation 519-524-4430 or 1-800-896-4430. ADVEHTISEIIE\T luxury in rural Paul Steckle Price-fixing and other anti competitive activities are ille gal in this country. Steckle's correspondence states: "The inquiry will help clarify the reasons behind the 17 per cent increases in gaso- line prices since January of this year and it will determine if this increase can be legally justified. "In the second half of 1995 the price for one litre of regu- lar unleaded gasoline hovered around 53v," the MP's letter adds, "However, now in most areas of Huron -Bruce gaso- line cost approximately 60¢ per litre or $2.73 per imperial gallon." August busy month at arena Next month and early September will he a busy time at the local arena. "Huron -Perth triple A hock- ey has booked all of its try- outs and exhibition games in Seaforth, according to last month's minutes of the Seaforth and District Community Centres Management Committee. The board reviewed com- munity centre financial state- ments until the end of May which showed expenditures of $145,415 against revenues of $148,513.92. Arena manager Graham Nesbitt reported operations at the arena were "returning $0.91 on the dollar compared to $0.84 last year.
