Notice is hereby given that the
Public is invited to the
ANNUAL MEETING of
Seaforth Community Hospital
to be held Monday, June 24, 1996
at 8:00 p.m.
in Conference Room 2
of Seaforth Community Hospital.
for the purpose of receiving the Annual
Reports of the Board of Directors and of
the officials of the Hospital, for the election
of Directors, for the appointment of
Auditors, and for the transaction of such
other business as may properly come before
the meeting. The By-laws of Seaforth
Community. Hospital provide that the
Board of Directors shall include trustees to
be elected by members of the Hospital
Corporation.
Membership granting voting privileges may
be purchased for two dollars before 4:30
p.m., May 24, 1996. Membership sold after
that time will not entitle the purchaser to
vote at this Annual Meeting.

Students learn spiders have eight eyes
The kindergarten class
made 'Mother Day' trinkets
from recycled tin cans this
week. The kids are doing a
unit on Spiders and did you
know that spiders have eight
eyes and that they all don't
live in webs? The class is
looking forward to learning
more about these interesting
critters. They had some four -
legged visitors this past week
as well. Keiryn Jacobs
brought in Pokeyher hamster
and Chris Holmes brought in
four kittens which, by the
way, are ready for adoption.
The Grade 1's were very
busy this week writing thank
you notes to McGavins, com-
pleting their design projects
of things found on a farm and
visiting the Seaforth vet clin-
ic petting zoo. There they
were able to play with kit-
tens, puppies, watched a very
playful pig, and petted a pony
and a nanny with two kids.
Last week was animal health
week.
The Grade 2_ grandparent -
friend day was a great suc-
cess. The songs, and poems
that they have been working
on for some time went over
very well. The kids. gave the
guests a tour of the scnool,
filled out family trees and
then served them refresh -
Horticultural Society
Work bee planned for planting boxes
The regular meeting of the
Horticultural Society was
held May 8 at Northside
United Church. Owing to
inclement weather, the gar-
den tour was cancelled. A
vid; o of Spring flowers was
shown and a trip to Brazil by
Peg DeJong. Roll call was
answered by 15 members.

Grade 3's celebrated
Authors Day by reading their
hard=covered published
books to their guests. The
kids had made six batches of
cookies during the week and
served that a's well as punch
to their family and friends.
For environmental studies
the Grade 4's took a hike up
the road to the Huron County
bush to pick out a tree that
they could do a study on.
While there they discovered
an old foundation of a house.
Nathan DcWit said he found
a frog and they picked out the
tree that they adopted for
their research. On the way
back to school the kids
dragged back hags of garbage
they had collected.
The school held a family -
math day where kids compet-
ed against their parents doing
math games. A great, time
was had by all.
Winners of books for the
family night reading draw
were Cassandra Banks and
Nikki VanderVeen.
The school will be holding
a garage sale June 1. If any-
one would like to"donate bak-
ing or contribute in any way
please call Val Pethick.
Thirteen tables of euchre
were played last Thursday
night at the Walton Hall. First
prize winners were Bob and
Dorothy Dalton; second prize
Judy and JoAnn McDonald;
third - Olive Papple and Beth
Pryce. Ladies lone hand win-
ner was Evelyn Christiansen.
Lone men's hand prize went
to Dort McAdam.
