Computers, bikes, gas, vehicles stolen
Thieves were at work in
Seaforth and area last week,
with numerous incidents, par-
ticularly on Thursday and
Friday.
Electronic equipment worth
$5,500 was stolen in a break
and enter at Seaforth Public
School on Market Street
Thursday, the same day St.
Anne's Catholic School was
broken into at Clinton.
A double pane window
worth $200 was smashed to
gain entry at the Clinton
school, the alarm sounded
and culprits left through a
nearby door, according to the
Goderich detachment of the
Ontario Provincial Police.
Nothing was stolen. -
This was not so at the
Seaforth school, where a net-
work controller tower
(#LR62196), TTX computer
monitor (#3248053160) and
"Quickcam",camera were
taken.
OPP report two mountain
hikes were also stolen in sep-
arate incidents in Seaforth
late last week. ,
On Thursday an 18 -speed,
green and yellow Voyager
bicycle (#0941 1203120) worth
about $300 was taken from a
Main Street residence. The
next day a blue and yellow
mountain bike worth $400
was stolen from Seaforth
Public School.
Also on Thursday in
Seaforth. thieves did an esti-
mated $100 damage breaking
into Kelly's Auto Service on
Birch Street, where a truck
was taken. Later that day the
1992 Chevrolet Blazer was
found in a ditch on Highway
8 in Tucks smith Township
with the gine running,
gear in drive, headlights on,
and keys in ignition."
Police say there was mini-
mal damage to the truck, val-
ued at $8.000.
Gas. thieves were also cor-
nered in Hulled Township on
Saturday, where they had a
head-on collision with the
farmer's vehicle in pursuit.
Goderich OPP say its offi-
cers "were advised of a theft
of gas in Logan Township
and that the owner of the gas
was following this vehicle

break and enter in=a drive
shed owned by a Clinton res-
ident in Hullett Township.
It was reported last
Monday but happened during
the past four weeks.
The OPP say "culprits used
rocks to smash windows to
gain entry, and also broke
two windows on an unused
combine." Damage is esti-
mated at $600.
