Parr Line strikes Gold at Provincials
The Parr Linc Ladies of
the Seaforth Broomhall
League won four straight
games on th.c • weekend to
capture the .provincial .gild
medal. From March 1.5-17.
Owen Sound was the sight
for the. 1996 Provincial
Broomhall Championships.
Parr Line was thereto repre-
sent the central west region in
the intermediate ladies clivi-.
$ion. •.
• Parr Line's first opponents
were C&A Steel from Barrie,
representing the central cast
region: Although Parr Line
was a little slow in 'getting
started. .it didn't .take too long
•to score enough goals to give
them a 4-1) win. They next
met the Borden Wildcats.

east region. This was to he a
very physical and fast game.
In Provincial final
Again Parr Line was victori-
ous with a 1-1) score. •
Still on the winning side
of the draw. Parr Line Was to
meet the host team for this
tournament. the Young Guns
of the central west region as
well. Although the -Young
Guns had the advantage of
(laving the. home crowd
cheering them on. Parr Line
managed to come out ahead
2-)). This win put Parr Line
into the gold medal game. At
this point no goals had been
scored on Parr Line due to
excellent team work and
'excellent gciat-tending. •
On. Sunday morning Parr
Line was to face'Carlcton
Ford of the eastern region in
the final round. Carleton
Ford would have to heat Parr
Line twice to win the gold.
This was not meant to he.
Parr I.ine scored once, twice.
three times. while Carleton
Ford couldn't put the hall in
the net. Parr Line had won
the gold -and -are now the
Ontario Intermediate.

team. an all-star "AA" squad
which includes some local

medals at - the Ontario
Ringctte Championships.
They won five -straight

dued by Mississauga _6-3 in
Sunday's final.
