THE COMMUNITY THAT SINGS TOGETHER... - It took a
lot of work, but it was worth it when the community's men
joined t. .ether for the Homecoming Men's Chorus.
SONGS OF OUR PAST - Former Seaforth Mayor Franc Sills brought back some nostalgic
memories when he sang at the Homecoming Variety Show.
EMEMBER CKNX BARN DANCES? - Sharon Murray brought back the days of the CKNX
n dances with her powerful renditions of old standards. She was highly praised by John
Brent, who did the CKNX barn dances for years.
MUSIC MEN - Bill and Ken Campbell put smiles on the faces of those who attended the
I Iomecoming Variety Show on Saturday evening with their comic whistling act.

MUSICAL SISTERS - Madonna and Carol Ann McQuaid

Variety Show.
Variety show displays
many local talents
Memories came back for the
sold -out crowd at the commun-
ity Variety Show held Saturday
night.
Johnny Brent, who emceed
the CKNX barn dances on the
road for 26 years, made the
crowd feel like they had gone
back to that nostalgic time.
He introduced Sharon
(Strong) Murray as someone
who had auditioned at the age
of . four and "still sings like a
bird."
She proceeded to give an
excellent rendition of such
songs as Love Letters in the
Sand.
The Delaney sisters, Lucille
Panziera and Jayne Delaney -
Walsh, sang old Irish favourites
in a stirring fashion including a
powerful version of 0 Danny
Boy.
Frank Sills showed he could
still sing a tune with some
nostalgic numbers. His grand-
son, Don Sills teamed with
Lindsay Devereaux for some
well -performed contemporary
tunes.
It was a truly community
event.
One of the definite highlights
of the evening was seeing the
sizeable Homecoming Men's
Chorus perform great
barbershop -style numbers.
The Huron Strings gave some
fantastic fiddling to the
crowd's delight.
Not to be outdone, the tal-
ented McQuaid sisters, in this
case Madonna and Carol Ann,
did some trick fiddling which
had to be seen to be believed.
As usual the quartet Carousel
won the hearts of the crowd
with their fantastic voices.
The Cavan Steppers and
Cavan Cloggers each gave
energetic performances which
got every toe -a -tapping.
Jack Storey overcame the
inevitable technical glitches

with an Elvis -like performance
of My Way.
Master of Ceremonies Lee
Paul, a true veteran, did his
usual fine job of making the
show move along quickly and
with lots of fun and laughter.
One of the funniest spots in
the evening was also the most
curious. It is impossible to
describe Bili and Ken
Campbell's routine accurately.
There was certainly some-
thing
omathing for everybody at the
Homecoming Variety Show to
make Homecoming '95 even
more special.
