which organizers term a big suc-

More than 150 people, world-
renowned dairy judges and a goodly
number of cattle are at the Seaforth
Fairgrounds for the Western Ontario
Dairy Judging Contest. It is the first
time the event has been held in
Huron County in 15 years.
The Huron County Board of
Education and its 271 secondary
school teachers reach a two-year
contract agreement, which among
other things calls for no salary
increases through the 1995-96
school year.

Some of the province's top junior
golfers are in town to compete in
the Midwestern Ontario Optimist
Junior Golf Championships. It is
the first time the regional com-
petition has been held in Seaforth.

Amy Hume retires after 28 years
with the Seaforth Public Utility
Commission and is replaced by
Marian Clark as secretary -treasurer.
Danica McNichol takes Clark's
position as office clerk at the local
utility.

A new subdivision is announced
for Munn's Bush in Seaforth, spear-
headed by local developer and
businessman Marlen Vincent, and
two Seaforth natives now living in
Listowel: Doctors Don and Bill
Munn. Twelve • fully -serviced lots
will be created at the historic local
grove in the wooded area in the
north-west corner of Seaforth.

Police Chief Hal Claus told the
Seaforth Police Services Board that
Seaforth faces tens of thousands of
dollars in extra capital costs'forthe
municipal police force.
Early signs suggested the
dramatic reduction in garbage at the
Mid -Huron Landfill Site would hurt
landfill site coffers. By September,
however, it became evident that the
$35 per tonne tipping fee would
lead to a landfill site profit in 1994.
