The Huron Expositor, 1994-12-21, Page 194 Entertainment Hot bowling on Thursdays The Thursday Nighters Bowling League just keeps having hot bowlers. Dec. 15 saw Mike Thomson bowl a 318 game and Erich Matzold bowl a 270. Needless to say there always is one bowler who has a cool hand. This week it was Jason Cooper 88 and 89. The Falling Pins are coming up fast in the league. They managed to win two games and total pins over The Buds. Doug Procter's 217; Ralph Johnston's 238 and Diana Steep's 204 - 527 led the way for the Falling Pins. The Buds got some help from John Coleman 250- 624; Gary Bedard 221 and Patricia Schwarz 194-535. Betty Hulley has High Single and Triple Senior Bowling on Dec. 16 saw the end of the fall schedule. New teams will start the 1995 season on Dec. 30. The red-hot Blue Jays came through to tie the Canaries for top spot. The whole team bowled well. Betty Hulley had high single 218 and triple 565 followed by John Van Loon's 215,202 and 560 triple. Catherine Staples, Art Finlayson and Sandy Doig all did their part. If it hadn't been for Ron Bennett's 229 and Olive Pryce's 231 in the second game all the points would have gone to the Blue Jays. The Canaries started off with a bang and it looked as if they were going to take all the games but the lowly Robins managed to capture two games from them. John Aubin had a 201 and Bill Mitchell a 207. Eric Matzold with a 213 single and 586 triple dashed the Owls' hopes of a first place finish. Dec. 23 is fun day and Christ- mas party.
