baked in a pie. When the pie
was opened the birds began to
sing. Was that not a wonderful
sight to set before the king...'
Seaforth 1 4-H members made
apple pies at their fourth meet-
ing which was held at Vanden
Hovens' on Sept. 26 at 7:00.
Melanie Cronin demonstrated
how to make pie pastry. Then it
was rolled and an apple pie was
made. Different toppings and
edges for pies were discussed.
Members looked at the pie
Flings as desserts and main
dishes. Then members enjoyed a
piece of freshly -baked apple pie
and juice.

Hensall Seniors
have meeting
Hensall Sunset Seniors met at the
United Church for their October
meeting at 8 p.m. Helen McKay
took charge for the meeting.
Seventeen members answered the
roll call. The Seniors Rally was in
Seaforth, Oct. 13. The Seniors will
be having a card party at the Arena
Nov.21, open to the public. The
card party start at 7;30 p.m.
Winners of the cards for Oct. 11
were: Pearl Taylor, Murray Craig,
Irene Blackwell; Dirk Kuik, Greta
Kuik. Hostesses were Isobel
Rogerson, Evelyn McBeath and
Hilda Payne.
A reminder to Legion Comrades
that once again it is time to pay
legion dues. De an early bird and
.:reach Dec. 31 deadline. After
'January 31, '95 those with their
dues in arrears are no longer
members.
The Remembrance Day church
parade and service will be held
Sunday, Nov. 6 at the Hensall
United Church. The Poppy
Campaign will be held Nov. 3. The
Annual Remembrance Day Banquet
is to be held Nov. 11 at the Hensall
Arena, with a social hour from 6-7
p.m., followed by dinner and a
guest speaker. Tickets are available
at the legion or from legion
members.
There is still time if anyone
wishes to plant tulips and have
them dedicated to someone who
participated towards the war effort.

A donation of $25 was made to
the Week of the Child by the
Legion and Auxiliary.
Sunday, Oct. 16 the Annual Vets'
Banquet was held at the Hensall
Arena, hosted by Branch 468.
Dinner was served -15Y' the-
Ladies'
he-Ladies' Auxiliary to more than 120
vets.
At Hensall United Church, this
past Sunday, Rev. Isagni Lazaro
was the guest minister while Rev.
Henry Annen preached the
anniyersary service at Dashwood.
Rev. Lazaro chose `Personally
Yours' as his message. The
children's hymn, `God is Good'
was sung. The greeter was Judy
Mock. Ushers were Dave Collins
and Mark Consitt.
On Oct. 19, the Official Board
meets. On Oct. 23 Rev. Annen will
preach at Elimville. A bale of good
clothes will be packed Nov. 7.
Bible study will be held Oct. 18
from 1:30 to 3 p.m. in the church
parlour and on October 21 from
9:30 - 10:30 a.m. at Zion Lutheran
Church in Dashwood.

Brecn on their 50th anniversary.
The sympathy of the community
goes out to the Shirray family on
the passing Mabel. For many years
Mable taught at Hensall Public
School.
The Week of the Child is
underway in Hensall. The Week
received a grand beginning, with
the Child Identification Program.
This was sponsored by the Hensall
Tinker Tots Co-op Nursery School.
There will be free skating
sponsored by the Hensall Kinsmen
on Tuesday, Wednesday, and
Thursday. Everyone should keep
Saturday open, to attend the
Costume Paradc. The parade will
begin at the Hensall Fire Hall, at
12:30 p.m. (Rain location is the
Hensall Arena Auditorium)
Remember, in the spirit of the
International Year of the Family,
parents are encouraged to dress -up
tool Every Participant will receive
a prize, provided by the Bluewatcr
Recycling Association. Following
the parade will be refreshments,
'provided by the Hensall Kinette
Club. Also, the winners of the
`Family, the Heart of the Matter'
poster contest - sponsored by the
Hensall rerhinded that entries must
be submitted by Oct. 21 at 5 p.m.

events, as we recognize the
importance of the child in our
community.
