The Huron Expositor, 1994-10-12, Page 7UP AND DOWN FOR CENTS - The Seaforth Junior D'evelopment Centenaires doubled the North Middlesex Stars 6-3 on Friday night in Seaforth to remain undefeated...until they ware TQM CUMMING PHOTO later trounced by the mighty Port Stanley Lakers who gave the Cents their worst defeat in six years. Lakers crash party until Seaforth came out flying in the third period, scoring three unanswered goals to win the game going away. Brent Hulley opened the scoring for the Cents with his first goal as Seaforth's unbeaten Centenaires ,got a rather rude "reality -check" at Port Stanley Saturday night when they were thrashed 12-5 by the hometown Lakers in the Ontario Hockey Association Junior 'D'evelopment League. It was probably the worst defeat Seaforth's junior hockey team has suffered in the past six years, and it was almost even worse, a complete humiliation - the Cents were trailing 12-1 but scored four times in the last six and a half minutes of the game to salvage some measure of pride. Friday night on home ice Seaforth doubled the North Middlesex Stars 6-3, giving them a weekend split and leaving their record at three wins and one loss. They have until Friday night to lick their wounds when the Lambeth Lancers are in town for and 8:30 start. Port Stanley, and OHA finalist last season, only lost two games in the Eastern Division last season and are odds-on favourite to win the west this time around. They are big and fast. The high -flying Centenaires were on the canvas before they knew what hit them, beat in every facet of the game, but particularly in their own end of the rink where they were far from crisp while the Lakers pounced on, then capitalized on, every miscue. Jason Dunsieth, Jason Hayter, Kalen Carroll, Jeff Volland and Mike Lauwaert scored for the Centenaires. Friday night's game with the Stars was a rather sluggish affair CENTS 5 - LAKERS 12 First period 1. P.S., Faulkner (Jolbcrt, Dictrick) 1:34 2. P.S., Hicks (Barnes) 4:20 pp 3.
