Havvu citizens' birthdays The Scatortn happy Citizen's club held a pot luck dinner for their first meeting after summer break at the Legion on Thursday, Sept. 1. It was a bounteous dinner and was well -attended. Mildred Traviss accompanied on the piano for the singing of O'Canada followed by grace before dinner. A short busi- ness meeting followed. It was moved and carried that a wreath be placed on the cenotaph on Novem- ber 11 in memory of all our men who last their lives during World War I and 11. Two women belong- ing to the club arc 91 years old and birthday greetings were extended to thein. Euchre followed with nine tables of euchre and one table of bridge with winners as follows: Ladies' high - Audrey McLean and Annic Staffen tied; Ladies' lone hands - Dorothy Hayes; Ladies' low - Pauline Bennett. World-class trumpet player visits Seaforth An accomplished British trum- peter, who once performed in the presence of the Queen, briefly visited Seaforth last week. Garry Page, of The Brass Pages Quintet, was performing in recitals in Stratford, Ontario last week. Page, of Birmingham, England, once performed with the group at the opening ceremo- nies at the International Conven- tion Centre's Symphony Hall in the presence of Her Majesty the Queen. Page founded the group while a student at the Birming- ham Conservatoire of Music.
