29th Bean Festival Souvenir Edition
Festival entertainment is non-stop
Zurich'a 29th Bean Festival
features a whirlwind schedule
of non-stop entertainment
with activities taking place all-
over town.
This year's expanded
schedule sees events getting
underway Friday night,
August 26. The midway will
be open and the Custom Rod
and Antique Show will hold a
Cruise Night, beginning at 7
p.m.
A Country Video Dance will
be held at 9 p.m. and fire-
works are scheduled for dusk
at the community centre
grounds.
Saturday, August 27 begins
early, with The Zurich Minor
Athletic Association pancake
breakfast from 7-10 a.m.
The Custom Rod and
Antique Show, always a great
crowd-pleaser runs from 8
a.m. to 5. p.m. at the com-
munity centre grounds.
Home cooked bean dinners
are available from 11 a.m. to 7
p.m.
Country band Positively Stompin' will have the crowd doing just that,
when they appear on stage at this year's Bean Festival.
The Cloggers take to the
main stage at 11 a.m., until
11:30 a.m., followed by Three
Part Contraption, from 11:30
until noon.
The official opening of the
1992 Bean Festival will take
place on the main stage at
noon.
The Has Beans Bingo also
begins at noon in the com-
munity centre auditorium.
From 12 noon to 1 p.m.
Positvely Stompin' take the
main stage, followed by
children's entertainers Mr.
Monkinbelly and the Amaz-
ing Biff, from 1-1:45 p.m.
Klash the Klown will
entertain on main stage from
1:45 to 2:15 p.m, followed by
the return to the stage of
Positively Stompin' from 2:15
to 3 p.m.
Dr. Wallace's Frog Jumping
Contest takes place at the
Zurich Sunoco station at 3
p.m.
From 3:15 to 3:45, enter-
tainment, African -style, will
be provided by fire-eater,
Bwana Moto.
The Four Shadows acapella
singing group wraps up the
afternoon entertainment on
main stage from 3:45 to 5:45
p.m., following which prize
draws will be held on main
stage.
The day activities culminate
with the annual Zurich
Minor Athletic Association
Bean Festival Dance, begin-
ning at 9 p.m (Age of Majority
Only) at the arena.
All day long, visitors can
shop in the downtown street
market or enjoy the down-
town midway.
Entertainment at the Zurich
Bean Festival is always non-
stop. So come early and stay
late.
