The Huron Expositor, 1994-02-23, Page 43Best laid plans are made up well in advance
The wedding that is
carefully planned is one that
comes off beautifully. Wedding
plans should be laid starting at
least six months in advance of
the wedding date.
The first thing to decide
is what type of wedding to have:
simple or elaborate? With an
indoor or outdoor reception?
There is always the option of
being married on a boat or some
other unusual site that suits the
temperaments of the bride and
groom.
The next step is
determining the budget available
for the wedding and allocation

Marjorie Robinson models the dress made for Olive E. Allison
when she married John G. Davies on Aug. 17, 1993, at her
parents' home in Smiths Falls. The gown of yellow/gold net over
taffeta is styled in an A -tine, with two rows of satin applique and
ruffled net circling the skirt. The neckline drops to a 'V' in front
and back, outlined with ruffled net. A matching silk sash is worn,
tied in back with a bow. The bride wore elbow -length mauve
gloves and slippers. Her bouquet was yellow roses and mauve
sweetpeas. The same flowers were repeated in a garland for her
hair. The bride's attendant wore a mauve dress with mauve net
gloves and orange blossoms in her hair.
of resources as equitably as
possible. There is also the list of
guests, which will have an
impact on the budget.
There will be meetings
to organize with the church
minister or civil official, as well
as with various suppliers and
professionals.Think of the florist,
musicians, limousine service,
caterer, hotel or restaurant,
photographer or video producer.
And, of course, you will
have to choose the bride's
wedding dress and the groom's
attire, select rirggs and
invitations, choose members of
the wedding party and deckle on
their outfits.
