Remember to write those
thank -you notes
Three months is the
longest you should take to
write thank -you notes --
which, by the way, must be
handwritten and should make
a direct reference to the
present.
It will help if you can
keep up with thank -you notes
as the gifts arrive before the
wedding. if you absolutely
cannot answer them within
this amount of time, you
might instead send printed
announcements that read:
Mr. and Mrs. John Smith
gratefully acknowledge your
present and will respond
personally at the earliest
opportunity.
Alternatively, share
the responsibility with your
husband. There is no reason
that your groom could not
write some of the thank -you
notes.

Erna Reed models the dress
wom by Dorothy Linketeter, who
married Flight Lt. John Wallace
on July 3, 1943, at her parents'
Colborne Twp. home. For her
wedding the bride wore a street -
length crepe dress in a floral
print of yellow, rose, blue and
white on a soft green
background. The dress, from
Woolfs of London, is collarless
with short sleeves, and features
a softly pleated panel down each
side, from shoulder to hemline.
Matching fabric -covered buttons
form the front closure, and there
is a self -belt. The bride also wore
a small white straw hat, set back
on her head, as was the fashion,
and white shoes. Her bouquet
was of stephanatis and white
roses.
