What video captures as mood and action. frst class photography captures as visual art. to be thoughtfully savored at one's own pace. generation after generation. Arguably the most cherished keepsake of any marriage. the uwedding album should be a photographic record that you're proud to display. That's why It's Important to commisssion someone you can trust to do the job properly. However. even top photographers need some co-operation. As with other details in planning a wedding. the album Involves much more than plunking dawn a deposit and giving date. time and location. Equally important is the comfort and understanding level between yoA and your photographer. You. your fiance and family members a in all be taking cues from him or her on your wedding day. so It is important that the individual is patient. respectful and mindful of your wishes. One rJ the biggest mistakes couples make In working with a photographer Is not allotting enough time on the wedding day for the photographer. Often. in the hustle and bustle and excitement prior to the church service. brides will not be ready to be photographed. missing out on a prime photo opportunity for special moments with parents. attendants and friends. The couple should set aside al least a couple of hours between the church and reception for formal shots. The minimum shooting time alone is an hour to one and a half hours. - Let your photographer have the first dance. so to speak. Guests inevitably want to pop their own pic- tures. but If you're paying a pro to deliver. let him have the first opportunity. Fix your attention towards his lens until he has what he needs. When things fall behind schedule. It's often the photographer who must sacrifice some of his allotted time. This isn't fair to either of you: you'll havefewer shots to choose from. and hell have fewer to sell. You'll save time if other members of the wedding party are ready for groupings. Enlist a friend or rela- tive as co-ordinator with a prepared shot «st. Wedding day photos are a means of re -living the most Important dayof our lives. Through professional- ! ism and artistic ability you will be able to look back on this day with joy and longing. iie wary of amateur photographers. Few are quaaltfied to trust your uibdding memories to. It's strange how a young couple or their parents will spend SI.000 for professionally arranged flowers. 8300 for a professionally decorated cake. and $1.000 for an off -the -rack gown. The morning after the cer pt ng the flowers have wilted. the cake Is no more and the gown is stored in a box In a dark closet. Yet. to save a few dollars. people will ask an amateur to produce something that will last forever and be one of the couple's most cherished possessions. - Remember, a picture Is not Just a picture. You are also paying for the services of an artist who is trained to capture the story of your wedding day. - if you should choose a budget deal. be prepared for extra costs - or pray your man Is still trt business when the big day rolls around. Arrange for the photographer to come prior to your wedding day to help select shooting locations - indoors as well as out. bearing In mind that poor weather might force alternate settings.
