The Seaforth and District Ringette
Association would like to invite you
to come and watch some exciting
Ringette action at their annual
Tournament. The Tournament will
be held Thursday, February 17, 5
pm to 10 p.m., Friday, February 18
from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Satur-
day, February 19 from 8 a.m. to 9
p.m. All dates and times are for the
Seaforth Arena. Finals will be held
on Sunday, Feb. 20 at the Clinton
Arena. Come out and watch some
excellent ringette action.
The Seaforth Recreation Depart-
ment will be hosting Kids Crafts on
some Saturday mornings in Febru-
ary and March. This craft class will
be instrucjed by Susan Halfpenny
from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the
Seaforth and District Community
Centres, for children ages 8 to 12
years old. In February crafts will be
held on Feb. 12 and Feb. 26. On
the 12th come out and do some
Valentine Crafts. Pre -Registration is
a must so we know how much
supplies to get. Please call the
Recreation Office to register or for
more information. Also, watch my
column for future craft dates.
The Seaforth Recreation Depart-
ment will also be sponsoring an
Introduction to Tole & Decorative
Painting. This course will cover
surface preparation, colour theory,
use of 3 different brushes, and
decorative finishes. Students will
paint posies on a scissors caddy,
folk art tulips on a letter holder,
Victoria flowers on a wall shelf and
earrings. The classes will be held
on Thursday evenings from 7 to 10
p.m. at the Seaforth District High
School, beginning February 24 and
lasting 6 weeks. Registration fee
will be $35 per person plus $110
for all supplies and taxes. The class
must have 8 people to begin and a
maximum of 10. Please pre -regis-
ter by calling the Recreation Office
at 527-0882, supplies must be pur-
chases. Deadline for registration
will be February 17, 1994.

The Basketball Camp for children
in Elementary grades will begin

Resident Council members met on
Monday morning for their monthly
meeting. There were many import-
ant issues to discuss. Tuesday was
supposed to be the church day, but
due to illness, the minister was
unable to attend. There was a hymn
sing instead, and residents enjoyed
this hour of song. This week ended
up to be a very musical one

once again gathered around the
piano _for an old-fashioned sing
