Lucan snaps Cents' winning streak
Defending league scoring cham-
pion Greg Deprest netted a pair of
goals and another two assists to
lead the Lucan Irish to a 5-4 win
over the Centenaires, snapping their
four -game winning streak at
Seaforth Sunday night.
The Centenaires fared better
earlier in the week in Ontario
Hockey Association Junior Devel-
opment League action. Friday night
at Seaforth they scored three short-
handed goals and goaltender Dana
Duskocy recorded his league -lead-
ing fourth shutout of this season as
the Centenaires blasted the Belmont
Pests 12-0. And Tuesday night, also
on home ice, Paul McLlwain had a
six -point outing as the Cents beat
the Irish 7-5.
Seaforth now owns a 17-14-4
record. They played in Mitchell last
night (Tu.sday) but results weren't
available at press time. The Cents
face another busy week with
another three games: Friday night at
8:30 in Exeter against the Hawks,
Sunday night at 8:30 in Seaforth
again against the Mitchell Hawks
and next Wednesday in Belmont at
8:30 p.m. in a game against the
Pests that was postponed because of
weather earlier in the schedule.
The Centenaires pulled their
goaltender in favor of an extra
attacker and came within a whisker
of tying Sunday night's entertaining
game in a goal -mouth scramble that
ended when the net came off its
moorings with just four seconds left
on the clock. The Irish led 2-1 after
the first period but the two teams
were tied 3-3 after the second. A
shorthanded goal that shouldn't
have been, to the short side of
goaltender Jamie Redmond 32
seconds into the third was the one
that broke Seaforth's back.
McLlwain, Chad Ramer and
Karsten Carroll and Ted Sills, both
on the powerplay, scored for
