The Huron Expositor, 1994-01-26, Page 7close game
through the third period. Seaforth
had several glorious chances to p'1'it
the game away as shots by Jos
Holland, Brent O'Reilly,
Flanagan and Barry Young j
barely missed finding the mark.
Seaforth continued to press and
controlled the puck in the Wingham
end for nearly two minutes in final
moments of the third period.
With the clock ticking down and
with the Seaforth bench beginning
to accept what looked like a 4-4 tie,
Steve Carnochan decided to take
the matter into his own hands and
do something about the tie.
Camochan, called "Nifty" in his
Tyke days, put his "nifty"
puckhandling and skating skills to
work, dodging Wingham defenders,
circling the net and finally, with
just three seconds left, tucking in a
"nifty" backhander to give Seaforth
a hard-earned and well-deserved
victory.
The Novices practice at 5:30
Wednesday and then travel to
Stephen Township for a game at 6
p.m. Friday and to Clinton for a
3:30 game Saturday.
RAIDERS 2 - ROYALS 1

four seconds left in the game and
Dave Kramers scored a goal with
Mike Lafrancois contributing to the
second goal clever passes by Dave
Hulley and Vern Gervais. Royals'
line goal scored by Dale McCarthy
and back up help from ,Tony Van
Miltenburg.

Novices win
The Seaforth Novice I's out-
played, outshot and outworked the
visitors from Wingham Saturday
afternoon, but despite the effort just
eked out a 5-4 victory. Seaforth
captain centre Steve Carnqaan,
who scored with just three seconds
left in the game, saved the day for
the Seaforth Novices.
Jason Denys got Seaforth on the
board by finishing off a Steve
Camochan pass at 7:51 of the first.

Mark Flanagan, gave Seaforth a 2-0
lead before the opening frame
ended. After Wingham narrowed
the gap to 2-1, Joey Nesbitt, among
the best skaters in the league, made
one of his patented end-to-end
rushes to restore Seaforth's two
goal margin. A determined
Wingham squad tied the game on
two second -period goals just 24
seconds apart. The Carnochan line
went to work again, and wingers
Mark Flanagan and Jason Denys
put Seaforth ahead once more, as
Flanagan scored to restore the
Seaforth lead to 4-3.
Despite being outplayed.
Wingham tied the game midway
