Celtic College has become a
high-quality arts camp which
draws children from all over
southern Ontario, Michigan,
and further beyond.
The Celtic Kids Day Camp
runs concurrently with the
Celtic_College in the week
leading up to the Celtic
Roots Festival, and is open to
ages 4 to 12.
Children are divided into
age streams and have the
opportunity to take semi-
private and group lessons in
singing, tin whistle, drama,
harp, dance, rhythm and art
along with more specialized
instruction in guitar, fiddle,
mandolin, or ukulele.
Instructors include local
professionals such as Linda
Wiebe (art), Sharon John-
ston (harp), Katie Dock-
stader (ukulele, voice, and
harp), Lesley Ridsdale
(drama), and Patrick Main
(rhythm and guitar), along
with guest teachers such as

"My son first attended the
Celtic Kids Camp in 2014
when he was five," says
Courtney Henry, parent of a
participant. "Every day, after I
picked him up, he would
chatter on and on about eve-
rything he was able to do that
day. I loved that he was get-'
ting thoroughly immersed in
the arts with extremely tal-
ented teachers from all over
the world. He has attended
every summer since and last

Doug Bundy was recog-
nized by Town Council and
presented a certificate as he
was awarded Senior of the

Doug Bundy volunteers
with the Lions Club, Lake-

and a member of the Horti-
cultural Centre and Commu-
nities in Bloom - out going,
active and involved.
"Over the years I have
worked in many capacities as a
volunteer. My volunteer activi-
ties are not unusual nor are
they very special. There are a
great many other individuals
in the community that have
joined or support various com-
munity organizations. They
spend many hours trying to
improve the lives of their fellow
ukulele, with no experience,
which he continued to take
lessons in all year and has
come very far with."
The Celtic Kids Day Camp

residents and they should all
be honoured," stated Bundy.
Bundy planted and main-
tained on the largest flower
garden plots in Goderich, on
Bruce Street West. According
to Bundy, maintaining the
garden for years was a "labour
of love" and was enjoyed by
the neighbourhood.
"I turned 80 back in March
and I hope to continue with
my volunteer activities to the
best of my abilities, because
Goderich is a great place to
live," Bundy said. "It is a
great joy to be honoured this
way and I thank you for the
opportunity to say a word of
thanks."
