Hockey game fundraiser, Huron
OPP vs Huron East Fire Dept.
On Saturday, March 25, 2017,
the I-iuron East Fire Department
will face off against the Huron
OPP in a fundraising hockey game
to support Victim Services Huron
County and the Canadian Mental
Health Association. The game will
take place at the Seaforth Arena,
122 Duke Street at 2:00 p.m.
"Talk throughout the county is
Huron East is a hotbed for hockey
talent, and from what our scoots
tell us, Huron East Fire has quite a
talented team," said Jamie Stanley,
Huron OPP Community Safety
Officer & Team. "So we have
answered the call and will be
bringing our Huron OPP `Ice
• Hogs' Elite Squad to town for this
exciting match. The Ice Hogs have
a balanced roster this year with
some veteran leadership and
some youthful skaters. This elite
squad will be led by our stalwart
Captain, Sergeant Andrew
MacIsaac, and Ilowick's former
OMI IA champion goalie, Consta-
ble Mark Fraser."
"If Huron East Fire brings in
some of their homegrown NHL
talent, then they might have an
outside chance at keeping this
game close otherwise they might
as well go back to shining up their
fancy trucks," commented the
soon -to -be -retired Right Winger,
Police Constable, Mark
Gransden.
"As the fire builds between
these two highly impact teams,

and the noted hotbed for hockey
talent in Huron East, we've made
a strategic move to keep our vet-
eran talent off this team to keep
the score competitive," said
Marty Bedard of the Huron East
Firefighters - also known as the
"Huron East Smoke Eaters." "It
has been mentioned that O.P.P.
stands for "Occasionally Pass the
Puck." With that strategy in
mind, we only have to cover one
player at a time. "Because we
understand the Move Over Law
and don't want to receive any
tickets, the only way they will get
the puck to our net is if they put
it in their cruiser with all the
lights flashing."
