Break, enter,
theft of Goderich
restaurant
Huron County Ontario Pro-
vincial Police (OPP) offic-
ers and members from the
Huron OPP Property Crimes
Unit are currently investi-
gating a break, enter and
theft that took place earlier
this week at Skippers Res-
taurant located on Victoria
Street North in Goderich.
Sometime between 7 p.m. on
Jan. 10th and 4:15 a.m. on Jan.
11th, someone forced entry
into the restaurant by smash-
ing through a ground floor win-
dow. Once inside the restau-
rant the thief located the cash
float from the register and pro-
ceeded to exit through a rear
door. A quantity of cash consist-
ing mainly of coins was stolen.

Huron County Ontario Pro-
vincial Police (OPP) offic-
ers are currently investigat-
ing a break, enter and theft
that took place at St. Joseph's
Elementary School located on
Smith Street North in Clinton.
On the morning of Jan. 6 a
teacher at the school discov-
ered one of the windows of
the rear portable had been
smashed and someone had
gained access into the class-
room portable. Once inside the
portable the thief located and
stole two Dell computer towers.
Police believe this break, enter
and theft took place some-
time through the night of Jan.
5 into the morning of Jan.
6. The value of the stolen prop-
erty is estimated at $1,500.
OPP drug warrant
executed in
Central Huron;
$24,500 in
drugs seized
On Friday, Jan. 6, the OPP
Organized Crime Enforcement
Bureau (OCEB) — Drug Enforce-
ment Unit, West Region Emer-
gency Response Team (ERT),
West Region Canine Unit and
Huron OPP executed a Con-
trolled Drugs and Substances
Act (CDSA) search warrant at a
residence located on Bluewa-
ter Beach Road in the Munici-
pality of Central Huron.
As a result of the execution of
the search warrant, police seized
methamphetamine, cocaine,
oxycodone tablets, MDMA
(ecstasy pills), cannabis mari-
huana and cannabis resin. The
combined street value of the
seized controlled substances
is estimated at $24,500.
Police also seized offence -
related property that consisted
of drug trafficking paraphernalia,
cash, a prohibited weapon (flick
knife), a crossbow and ammu-
nition. The combined value
of the offence related prop-
erty is estimated at $3,000.
Police have arrested and
charged a 51 -year-old male
and a 37 -year-old female, both
from the Municipality of Central
Huron, with Possession of Meth-
amphetamine, Cocaine, Oxyco-
done, MDMA (Ecstasy) and Can-
nabis.Marihuana for the Pur-
poses of Trafficking. They are
also charged with Possession
of Cannabis Resin and Posses-
sion of a Prohibited Weapon.
Additionally, the male was
charged with two counts of
Failing to Comply with Condi-
tions of a Prohibition Order.
The female has been released
from custody with a court
appearance scheduled for
Jan. 23 at the Ontario Court
of Justice — Goderich. The
male remains in custody.
Tools stolen from
construction site
Huron County OPP officers are
currently investigating a break,
enter and theft that took place
at a construction site located
on Parsons Court in Goderich.
Sometime between Jan.
4 and Jan. 7, those responsi-
ble attended the job site and
located a storage trailer on the
property. Upon gaining access
into the storage trailer those
responsible stole approximately
$8,000 worth of power tools.
Some of the sto-
len tools included:
• A yellow 5000 watt generator
• A Stihl 14" concrete saw
• (6) - 20 volt Dewalt
impact drivers.
• (4) — 20 volt Dewalt drills
• (2) — 20 volt Dewalt grinders
• A 20 volt Dewalt sawzall
• A 20 volt Dewalt
rotary hammer drill
• A laser level
• (19) 20 volt batteries
• (6) chargers
Stolen vehicle
recovered
while firearm
still missing
Huron County OPP officers con-
tinue to investigate a recent
theft of an unlocked Dodge Ram
pickup truck. On Friday, Jan.
6, 2017, around 12:30 p.m.
Huron OPP officers responded
to Clinton to speak with the
owner of the pickup truck.
Officers learned the owner
parked his 2005 Dodge Ram
near the intersection of Ratten-
bury Street and Albert Street
while he went inside to eat at a
restaurant. The owner returned
to his vehicle within twenty min-
utes to find his unlocked vehi-
cle had been stolen. Also stolen
from the truck was the owner's
wallet, some hand tools, a .223
calibre Tikka rifle with a black
synthetic stock and four boxes
of .223 calibre ammunition.
Approximately four hours later
the stolen pickup truck was
located by the owner in Huron
East stuck in a snow bank
on McDonald Line near St.
Michael's Road. The firearm and
ammunition were not recovered.
Police received information that
the suspect male is a Caucasian,
approximately 5'5" in height
and was wearing black over-
alls and a black & grey hoody.
Owners are reminded to
always secure their vehi-
cle when it is not attended.
Firearm owners are also
reminded of the following:
Restricte.d and Prohibited Fire-
arms must be unloaded and
a secure locking device must
be attached to the firearm and
the firearm must be locked
in a sturdy, non -transparent
container, the bolt removed
and locked in the trunk.
Non -restricted firearms need
to be locked in the trunk. If the
vehicle does not have a trunk
or lockable compartment put
the firearms and firearms con-
tainers out of sight inside the
vehicle and lock the vehicle.
