Mr. Johns had just crossed Smith's- bridge on the Lake Road and had turned out while meeting another car. The truck skidded on the grass and upset_ in the ditch. The door to the cabin of the car was on the bottom and Mr. Johns. was locked in. A piece of fal- ling- glass gashed 1\Ir. Johns, right arm above- the elbow severing the; main artery. JOHN SWEET On Friday of last -week Mrs, Har- riet J. Sweet, widow of the late John Sweet passed away at the advanced age of SS years and 4 months. The deceased, although in feeble health, was not taken seriously ill until a- bout ten days previous to her death, the general breaking up of a rugged constitution being the cause` Born 11 Devonshire, Eng. the deceased cane to Canada with her parents. when 12 years old settling in'this district. Her maiden name was Har- riet Jane Ching. She was united in marriage to the late John Sweet who 1 predeceased her 32 years ago this month. The deceased was a member of the Main street Methodist church.' She i's survived by six children, two sons and four daughters: Mrs, H. J. Glanville, of, Vancouver, B. C., Robt: H. of Portage la Prairie, Man., Misses Charlotte and Louise at home, Theo. of Hamilton and Miss, Ethel; of Til- sonburg.
