In Memoriam* •
THOMPSON
In loving memory of
my son John, who
passed away three
years ago, June 4,
2006.
When someone
you love becomes
a memory,
The memory
becomes a
treasure.
Loving you always
and missing
you forever.
Love Mom. —23x
FISHER
In loving memory
of our precious son
and brother, Jared
who passed away
six years ago,
June 7, 2003.
There is a bridge
of memories,
From here to
Heaven above,
That keeps you
very close to us,
It's called the "Bridge
of Love ".
As time goes by without
you,
And the days turn into years,
They hold a million memories,
And a thousand silent tears.
To us you were so special,
What more is there to say,
Except we wish with all our hearts,
That you were here today.
Deeply missed and forever loved and
remembered, Mom, Dad, Josh and Jordan.

St. George's Anglican Church Rever-
end Allan Livingstone has recently been
honoured by the Anglioan Bishop of Hu-
ron for his years of exemplary service.
During the Annual Synod Service held
in London May 24, the Right Reverend
Robert Bennett, Anglican Bishop of
Huron, appointed the Reverend Living-
stone a member of the Cathedral Chap-
ter of Canons of St. Paul's Cathedral. He
now joins a list of 21 Canon Reverends in
the diocese which stretches from Tober-
mory to Windsor to Brantford, bounded
by lakes Huron and Erie.
Livingstone called the title an honour,
and said, "it's nice and humbling."
"These days it's an honourary title for
which we're all very grateful," Living-
stone said. "It doesn't change life very
much back in the trenches, I'm still car-
rying on my priestly functions that are
part of my daily service."
Reverend Canon Allan Livingstone
The role of Canon has ancient historic
roots in the church, stretching back to
a time when they were members of the
Cathedral clergy. Today Canons fulfill
an honorary role in the church and are
considered advisors to the Bishop and
leaders in the life and work of the Dio-
cese.
The Reverend Canon Livingstone
continues in his role as the Rector and
Parish Priest at St. George's Anglican
Church in Goderich and Christ Church,
in Port Albert, and as the Regional Dean
of Huron County. He is also Chaplain to
Branch 109 of the Royal Canadian Le-
gion and the Chair of the Board of Vic-
tim Services for Huron County.
Livingstone has been with
St. George's in Goderich and Christ
Church in Port Albert for six years, prior
to which he worked in education as an
elementary teacher and principal. He
served education within the Lambton-
Kent Board of Education for 34 years,
while always remaining close to the
church as a lay reader or churchwarden.
Livingstone has served on the Huron Di-
ocese Council for 20 years.

Skyharbour Modelers will be set for take
off soon.
Wilf Higgins, spokesperson of the Mod-
eleres explained that, originally, the group
intended to host their first event of the sea-
son on June 6th, but due to wet conditions
at their base, Empson Field, the launch will
be be postponed for two weeks.
The club is home to a variety of model
airplanes, including special training mod-
els which will be made available to local
Grade 5 and 6 students this year as part of
the opening ceremonies.
"They're studying flight," Higgins ex-
plained, "and this way they can experience
it, and come out and fly with the club train-
ers."
Higgins also said that the children will
be able to have free meal of hot dogs for
the event as well.
The group has been getting together for
over 35 years, and celebrate the beginning
of each year in a similar way.
Many different models will be on dis-
play at the field, including World War I and
Ir planes.
The trainer planes, however, are not
modeled after any planes, but they are
unique nonetheless.
"Both the instructor and the student have
transmitters, but the instructor's transmit-
ter has a kill -switch on it, allowing him to
take over the plane if need be," Higgins
explained.

Retirees tour Champion Antique Grader Club
On May 20, 2009, 13 members of the
newly formed IAM Local 1863 Retirees
Club visited the workshop and holding
yard of the Champion Antique Grader
Club near Auburn. This was the first field
trip organized by the retirees club as
part of a program of events to encourage
member participation and attendance.
Executive members of the Cham-
pion Antique Grader Club, Ted Rowe
and Bill Dobie, showed their visitors
around the workshop and explained the
history, workings and challenges to the
restoration of the early road graders in
the club's collection. These ranged from
the horsedrawn, mechanically operated
units to the engine driven, fully -hydrau-
lic machines most people are familiar
with. Many of the' units that have been
restored arrived at the workshop in a
neglected condition, but the collective
expertise of the Antique Grader Club's
members gradually refurbished the dere-
lict machines into a showroom -like con-
dition.' 1f spare parts cannot be found,
replacement components are hand made
from scratch. Both structural and me-
chanical components and assemblies
are rebuilt to factory specifications and,
after a complete new paint job, together
with authentic decal reproduction the
restored road graders are ready car dis-
