In loving memory of Bev, who left us May 3,
2006.
Although we smile and make no fuss,
No one misses her more than us,
And when old times we often recall,
It's then we miss her most of all.
A silent thought, a secret tear,
Keeps her memory always near,
Deep in our hearts, you'll always stay,
Loved and remembered every day.
Loved and missed by George and family. —18x

passed away two
years', ago, April

"We have loved
him in life; let
us not forget him
in death" - St.
Ambrose.
You hold a very
special place,
Locked deep within our
hearts..
Where love lives on forever,
And we are never far apart.
If roses grow in Heaven,
Lord pick a bunch for us,
Please place them in our Father's arms,
And tell him they're from us.
Place a kiss upon his cheek,
And hold him for awhile,
And whisper that we love him,
And we miss his happy smile.
Always loved and remembered by wife
Marlene, daughter Judy, son-in-law Gary,
grandchildren Jennifer (Mike),. Ryan (Liz),
great-grandsons Ben, Lucas and Nathan. Also
loved and remembered by brother Harold and
family and by many friends. —18x

Glad to see you back for a steamy helping
of condensed news. I wish. You might have
to settle for a cup of steamy Red Rose and
call your neighbour for news., But I will share
what I have, and what I don't have, I'll make
up. Now wouldn't that put a stir -stick in ev-
erybody's cup?
The kids where home for a celebration
dinner on Sunday. Son Jeffrey turns 27 on
Monday the 27th, this week. We celebrated
with an abundance of surf and turf with way
too many trimmings. Granddaughter Myrah
decorated the birthday cake and did an awe-
some job. Happy Birthday, all the best and
many more.
Among other events of the day, our Miss
Myrah brought us her pet turtle, Henry. Mr.
Heny is a four year old painted turtle who
now lives in our pond. Welcome to our circus
Henry.
I was pleased to attend a Spring Ladies
Day Out hosted by the Middlesex Women's
Institute and held in Thorndale. Along with a
great lunch and some lucky draws we were
educated on the Mason's program for child
identification. A worthwhile program indeed.

meets this week. Along with other projects,
the W.I. supports Canada Comforts, primar-
ily a knitting organization that collects knitted
and non -knitted items and distributes them to
poor countries around the world. This ini-
tiative was launched with just three women
knitting for those in need. Today, Sylvia Hat-
field coordinates 900 contributors. One of the
more recent shipments arrived at an orphan-
age in the Congo. A contact at the orphanage
reported that many of the children refused to
put down their knitted teddy bear to eat or
even bath. She went on to say she could now

"Rev'n in11" d un raising dance
The beginning of a new season brings many
visitors to Port Albert. The local fishing Club,
"Nine Mile Steelheaders" have been busy lift-
ing and tagging fish at the fish ladder. Joe and
Kelly at the store are fully stocked with the
latest fishing equipment, groceries, gas and
propane while Mark at the Inn at the Port is
all set with hot meals and hotel accommo-
dations. We are indeed fortunate to have so
many amenities right here in "Downtown
Port Albert".
The "Rev'n in 11" committee are very
pleased to report their kick off dance was a
huge success and very well attended. They
would like to thank the many people who vol-
unteered to work during the dance and also
thank everyone who attended and supported
our first fund raising event. Congratulations
to Denise Moulton for winning the 50/50
draw. Many of her friends at the dance reaped
the benefits of her new found wealth and our
profits were increased by her generosity. We
are looking forward to the next fundraising
event.

sions are welcome.
The Playgroup and Toy Bus program has
welcomed many new children recently. They
have changed their hours slightly to 9:30 —
11:00 every second Thursday. The next play-
group will be held May 7. It is wonderful
to see the children enjoy the toys, songs and
crafts as well as picking out the toys they wish
to borrow for the next two weeks.
Diane Maize sent me the following note
regarding a new exciting program she is pro-
moting for the young people in our commu-
nity:
"I am excited to share with the community
that I am looking at starting a Group for the
Kids in the Port Albert Area. I am looking for
children between the ages of 5 and 12 to meet
once a week to engage in community activi-
ties. My foctis is to assist them in building a
greater respect for the community that we live
in and love so much, to give back to others
in a respectful and caning way and enjoy the •
lovely area that we are being raised in. We
will also prepare for our BIG CELEBRA-
TION in 2011! I am also hoping to have a
program for the little ones between the ages
c huge success
of 2 and 4. I am very excited to be able to give
something back to the community that I was
raised in myself. I recently moved home to
the Port Albert area after being in Newmarket
for the last 25 years. I am a Child and Youth
Worker with 25 years of experience with chil-
dren, youth and their families. I would love
to hear from the community if they feel this
would benefit their children or other children
they may know. We are looking at meeting at
Christ Church Port Albert on a weekly basis.
Please contact me directly if you are inter-
ested in joining this amazing groups;=c if you
need more information. I am looking forward
to hearing from you soon!
Signed Diane Maize C.Y.W., dmaize @hu-
rontel.on.ca 519-529-3537".
I hope that the families in the area will get
in touch with Diane, she has some wonderful
ideas on how to get the children engaged in
community projects and just have a fun place'
to go once a week.
As I mentioned in the letters to the editor a
few weeks ago, the orange life ring has gone
missing from the north beach. Please see it
is returned to its proper place. IT COULD
