Clarke and daughter, June, of London, visited at the home of Mr. A. Bowey over the week -end. Two car loads of Junior Farmers from this, community 'motored to Woodstock last Friday to attend the plowing matches. Medd, president of the Religious Education Council', is in Brantford, this week attending the convention of the association. The many friends of Miss Ethel Bissettwill be glad to know that she has sufficiently, improved as to be able to be out for short auto drives. Mr. James Hem picked a rasp- berry branch ch on Monday and ay on which there were a number of raspberries well formed, one of the berries be- ing ripe. Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Bradt and family of London, Mr. and Mrs. W. J, McAllister and family of Mount Brydges, spent the week -end with Mr.,,and Mrs. James Jewell. This experience is not unique. Kin- cardine ratepayers complained about a 48 -mill tax rate'last year and elec- ted a new council to bring the rate down. Behold! This year's rate is 51 mills. ' Mr. "Chas.
