London was not officially illutaivated.
It had been hoped that the Mansion
House, the Bank of England and Marl-
borough Houee would join in the cele-
bration, all their illuminating stands
being intact, but none of the official de-
voratiens were lit up. The display in
London in this line was confined to the
tbeatres, the hotels and the business
houses on elle Strand, Fleet street and
other thoroughfares.
There was quite a celebration at Spit -

With the view of recompensing the
eightseers so far as possible for the dis-
appointments of last week, to-raorrow's
and Wednesday's reviews of the colonial
and the Indian troops will be accom-

to -day to occupy the first carriage in
the royal peocessioe, in which other mem-
bers of the royal family will participate,
as well as the foreign Princeswho are

The colonial troops, which are to be
reviewed to -morrow, have been invited
to remain in England for the present.
This is taken as an indication that the

of the coronation of Xing Edward tak-

A MONUMENT TO wAaNER.
Leipzie,os,claims Ilisputed and Frau
Wag/telex rpliey Disapproved.
Berlin, June 30.-A committee has
been organized at Leipzig to build a rla-
tioual Monilment to Richard Wagner,
and Frau Cosinia Wagner, the compos-
er's widow, has assumed partial control
of the', Movement. Some newspapers
speak sarcastically of a national monu-
ment to Wagner under the auspices of
his widow, who prevents the perform-
ance of "Persifal" anywhere in Germany
except at Baereuth. Other papers deny
.the right of Leipzig's claim for a nation-
al Monument to Wagner merely because
he was born there.
