One of the most noted physicians of
modern times says:—"When the system
is surcharged with bile and the liver
needs a powerful stimulus to excite k
to.duty, then it is that we use powerful
cathartics to obtain the necessary re-
lief, often attended, however, with
prostrating effects," and he might also
dd, "often causing by their re action
worse constipation and biliousness than
before." Now this is not the case with
Eseljays Liver Lozenges. They do not
prostrate nor re -act, They act gently
yet powerfully. Those .troubled with
chronic constipation or a bilious habit
that has lasted for years must continue
the use for some time; but they will do
their wore and permanently care those

Suicide at Seaforth.
Seaforth, February 6. -Early this
morning the people of Seaforthwere
shocked to heal teat Mr.T'homas Coven-
try, one of the leading business men of
the town, an old residen t and a respected
citizen, had committed suicide. Last
evening about five o'clock he purchased
a revolver from Reid &, Wilson's hard-
ware store, and went home as usual,
coming back after tea withhis brother.
It was noticed he was very despondent
all day. Leaying his home about half-
past six this morning tie went to open
up his shop, but when his workman
came about fift. en minutes to seven he
was surprised at not finding Mr. Cov-
entry, but thinking nothing wrong he
went into the shop and found the body
lying on the floor, in the back parr
with a revolver hi his hand. He gave
the alarm, and soon Drs. Smith and
Cambell were on the scene. They ex-
amined the body, and decided it un-!
neecessary to hold an inquest as there
was every evidence to show' that de-
ceased had taken his own life. They
found that the bullet had entered his
right temple, and the revolver was
held very close to the head, as his face
was covered with powder. Mr. Oov-
entry„had been in yery Door health
lately, being under care of Dr. Cavan,
of Toronto. His only son, Fred, was
accidently shot last May, and he never
recovered the loss of his darling boy.
He leaves a wife and daughter, besides
his brother, who resided with him, to
mourn the death oto a loving husband
and kind father, and a host of sym-
pathizing friends.
