(43) 105 Cards of Thanks POWE - Words cannot express the appreciation I have for everyone who joined me on this roller coaster ride the past eight months. We have shared many tears, challenges and blessings. Special thanks to my husband, Al, who has been there for me from day one - through thick and thin and to our four girls who have kept me focused and smiling with their hugs and handmade cards, “Mom I hope you turn out okay.” To our families - your support has been overwhelm- ing. Although many of you live miles away, you have never been closer. Thank you to our friends and neighbours for the cookies, pies and meals which appeared on our doorstep. Thank you to our nurse friends who were never off duty. Thank you to all our church, baseball, ringette, curl- ing and SCPS friends for your kind gestures. Thank you to the gang at the T.A. for being so understanding. To the doc- tors, nurses and volunteers at LRCC who took me under their wings - thank you for your excellent care. To the people I have never met, but tell me they have been praying for me, thank you for your kindness. The help with the girls, phone calls, e-mails, vis- its, prayers, cards, gifts and food were all very much appre- ciated. Although I’m not much for roller coaster rides, this one was much easier with all of you taking it with me. Carol Cancer is so limited - It cannot cripple love, It cannot shatter hope, It cannot corrode faith, It cannot destroy peace, It cannot kill friendship, It cannot suppress memories, It cannot silence courage, It cannot invade the soul, It cannot steal eternal life, It cannot conquer the Spirit. .....Author unknown (43x) ROBERTS - Thanks to my friends and neighbours for the lovely flowers, goodies, fruit and cards. Also for the excel- lent care while in the hospital and since returning home, the inquiries and telephone calls - knowing that you were think- ing of me, helped to perk me up. Thanks again. Everything was appreciated. Helen (43*) GRAHAM - Many thanks to our family and friends and especially to the Stratford General Hospital staff for their care and love. Robert (43*) 106 In Memoriam DIETRICH - In loving mem- ory of a wonderful husband, father and grandfather, Lorne who passed away October 28, 1982. Today, tomorrow, our whole life through, We will always love and remember you. Those who love don’t go away, They walk beside us every day. Love goes on, 20 years have gone by, But precious memories never die. Loved and dearly missed, Mary & family. (43*) LEWIS - In loving memory of our parents who both passed away in October. Earl, on the 26th, 1982 and Jessie, on the 30th, 1991. As time unfolds another year Memories keep them ever near. Silent thoughts of time together Hold memories that will last forever. Your family, Helen, Don & Edith, Norman & Linda, Allan and Gladys, your grandchildren and great- grandchildren. (43*) MARY CONNOLLY (JOHNS) - Time may hide the sadness Like a smile that hides the tears But precious memories will never fade Despite the passing years. But with love within our hearts You will walk with us forever, Mom. Love as always, Don, Ken, Marg & Doris and families. (43*) TAYLOR - In loving memory of Jean Taylor, died July 21, 1992 and Jim Taylor, died October 15, 1992. Your star we noticed purely by chance, When giving the night sky a passing glance, Its beacon draws our eyes each night, Brighter than the rest, first out each night, Guiding us from either work or play, Signaling the end, of yet anoth- er day. Low in the western sky it attracts our eyes, An everlasting vigil of love, lingering goodbyes. Suddenly, first we lost you, Mom & Gramma Then all too soon we lost you to, Dad & Grandpa Its brightness did increase, I’m sure, to give us a measure of peace. It’s true, time does dry ones tears, Memories sustain us, these past ten years, So at the ground we do not look For both of you; nor in a book, Your star is where we cast our gaze, Comforted by your glowing praise. John & Cathy Taylor & family (42;43*) CLARKE - In loving memory of Audrey Clarke who passed away October 25, 1996. October comes with sad regret The month, the year, we will never forget. You passed away without goodbye But our love and memories will never die. Sadly missed by Russell and family.
