Southam & Co. in Lona there procures a fac simile supn>, the same drafts printed by them fo Messrs Fox. In possession of these, blanks he seems to have had a pretty fair field for his nefarious designs, especially where Mr. Fox's signature was not well known. We next find him in Belleville on 29th November, and here, so far as yet known, be made the first attempt at passing the forged drafts. Iiow many he succeeded in passing there has not come to light, but two have been acknowledged. It is also reported that he succeeded in get- ting several more otlhis hands westerly from Bellivelie, through the back wood towns up Kincardine, Walkerton and Goderich way, but so far these state- ments have not been a.uthenticated. Yourex has an uncle residing in Lon- don or vicinity, and to hila he mailed some of the bogus drafts to be cashed by him in London. The uncle, no doubt, received them in. ood faith as being genuine, and in due course presented tiara at the Bank of Commerce, but here his race was run,.. ruts bank offiei cls at London immediately deteu e1i .lie fraud and raised an alarm. Very soon a Belleville detective was on his trach, but the bird had flown. Several other detectives are now after him, also, and are ander instructions from interested parties to spare no time or expense in bringing the culprit to justice. It is also well known that Yourex forged a. large number of promissory notes, us• ing the names of 'goorl and 'responsible farmers throughout the province, Quite a number of those notes are now held in the city of London. It is strongly suspected that. Yourox was not alone in this business, that he had the aid of .one accomplice if not more. It may be said that Mr•.Fox, who is in no wa,y fi- nancially interested, but merely with a view to further the ends of ,justice; has o`'fered $200 hi addition to the other largo rewards for the apprehension and conviction '11 the culprit.
