Problems finding a
executive members have caused a
lot of players to go elsewhere. The
executive wished them all the best
w ith their new teams.
A lack of a vice president, general
manager and directors also
contributed to the cancellation of the
team this year. •
Dean Crawford, a spokesperson
for the team said, “for these
positions you do not need
experience. All we need are wjlling
and able bodies. People who love
hockey.”
The inability to collect a large
enough amount of money to pul into
the hockey club was another reason
for the Crusaders not being able to
return.
“It's very hard to compete when
you can’t afford to have imports.
Our local players are good, but a
mix of players is always an asset,”
Crawford said.
The Crusaders hope to return next
September. Calendar draws are still
being made and results will be
printed in an upcoming issue of The
Citizen.
Brook Wheeler of Brussels, turned
away 34 shots as goal-tender for the

the season while Rensselaer earned
its first record blemish, 3-0-1.
Wheeler was given an honourable
mention for goaltender of the week.
