BLYTH UNITED CHURCH
Greeting at Blyth United Church
on Sunday, Oct. 23 were Barb and
Terry Richmond and Diana
Campbell. Guest organist was Lynda
McGregor. Usher was Lori Brooks.
Emily Phillips welcomed everyone
to church in the absence of Rev.
McGauley.
The children gathered at the front
and told all the food they liked and
all the food they disliked. Some of
the foods they liked were
apple juice, hamburgers
Smarties.
The foods they disliked
olives, spinach, broccoli and 100 per
cent said they didn’t like black
licorice.
They all said a prayer with Mrs.
Phillips saying thank-you for all the
food and for those who prepare it.
Brett Giousher held the candle
which was lit from the candles at the
front of the church to take
downstairs for Sunday school.
The Lectionary scripture readings
were from Nehemiah 9: 5, 32. Psalm
107 and Luke 17: 11-19.
Mrs. Phillips’ message to the
adults was Thank You. She said it is
easier to give thanks for a good
harvest than it is for a poor one.
We don’t always say thank you for
a job, until we no longer have a job
and become unemployed.
