One week, they made giant spiders and each took turns acting out the part of Little Miss Muffet. They love learning nursery rhymes and arc enjoying the rhyme lime program. Several of the local families have been brushing up on their family’s favourite nursery rhymes. The children have been dropping Humpty Dumpty, pretending to jump over candlesticks and finding Little Boy Blue hiding under the slacks. The children and family members enjoy the crafts and songs and are looking forward to Oct. 19 when a Huron Perth Resource Literacy person will present early literacy activities for the children. Everyone is welcome to attend. PEOPLE AROUND WALTON Congratulations to Sherry Hoegy and Eric Delay who were married Thanksgiving weekend in Ayden, North Carolina. Parents, Barry and Karen Hoegy and brothers Ben and Darryl and wife Ruthann and family attended the festivities. Friends and neighbours from the area who also made the trip were Ron and Betty McCallum, Ron and Dorothy Williamson, Margaret Brindley, Mike, Dorothy and Steve Gulutzen, Charlie and Judy Glauser and Sheila Smith who was in the wedding party. It was a lovely ceremony with the weather being hot. humid and rainy. The couple resides in North Carolina. It’s moose hunting time up north and many local men were off trying their luck. One gang that travelled to Smooth River was Ron Strome, Greg Fritz, Rob Shortreed. Dan Taylor and Matt Lee who saw a bull moose but as it had a calf tag, just enjoyed the sighting. The Lee farm had the last of the year’s roar of the motocross bikes. An open practice was held on Saturday and it was demo day on Sunday. Coolness kept the riders’ attendance down but it was a good weekend. Now this is how to spend your anniversary - enjoying lunch out at Walton Inn and dinner .out somewhere else. That’s how Jack and Marianna Ryan celebrated 37 years of wedding bliss. The Walton Master Brewers and friends got .together for a belated Thanksgiving last weekend. Gathering at the cabin of Dave and Tracy Fisher of Staffa, the group enjoyed deep-fried turkey and all that goes with it. Attending were Jim and Linda McDonald, Doug and Virginia Conley, Rick and Jo-Ann McDonald, Jack, Donna, Brad and Steve Knight and Mami Dingman, Nora Stephenson, Doris Fisher and Scott and Jeannette Robinson. Talking and card playing filled the evening. Celebrating birthdays last week were Jim McDonald, Maxine Marks, Owen Taylor, Jessica Kelso, Randy Fraser, Sarah Grobbink, Mary Helen McLachlan, Sheila Bachert, and Clyde McClure. Fire Safety Students at Blyth Public School were among many other schools across Canada taking part in a nation-wide fire drill on Wednesday, Oct. 12.
