Obituaries MARY ADELINE “ADDIE” HUNKING Mrs. Mary Adeline “Addie” (Bell) Hunking of Exeter and formerly of Londesborough, passed away at South Huron Hospital, Exeter on Thursday. Sept. 29, 2005. She was in her 87th year. She was the beloved wife of 63 years of Lome Hunking of Exeter Villa. She was the loving mother of Marjorie and Tom Duizer of Londesborough. Art and Judy Hunking of Exeter, and Murray and Kathy Hunking of Goderich. She was the loved Granny of Laurel and Mark Mitchell, Lisa Duizer and Shane Walker, Steve and Christina Duizer, Shannon Duizer, Todd Hunking and Sara, Mark, Tara and Shawn Heywood, Alicia Hunking, Wes Regier and Michelle Morrison, Amy and Wes Brown, Melany Regier and Steve Averill, Tony Regier, Angela and B.J. Cullen, Brad Hunking and Becky Hunking. She was “Great Granny” of Amanda, Jacqui and Tyler Mitchell, Jessica and Hanna Duizer, Caleigh and Devyn Clark, Shelby and Jayden Heywood, Ella Hunking and Rilee and Hailee Brown. Addie was the dear sister of Wallace Bell of Brussels and sister-in-law of Marion Riley of Huronview. She was predeceased by her parents Frank and Charlotte Bell, sisters and brothers-in-law Jean Bell, John and Clara Riley and Ben Riley. Friends were received at the Falconer Funeral Homes Ltd., 153 High St., Clinton, on Friday from 6 - 9 p.m., where the funeral service was held on Saturday, Oct. 1 at 2:30 p.m. Interment was in Hope Chapel Cemetery, Hullett Twp. Pallbearers were B.J. Cullen, Stephen Duizer, Shawn Heywood, Brad Hunking, Todd Hunking, and Mark Mitchell. Flowerbearers were Jessica Duizer, Amanda Mitchell, Jacqui Mitchell, and Tyler Mitchell. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. C. MARTIN BAAN C. Martin Baan of RR3, Walton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2005 at Seaforth Community Hospital, in his 91 st year. Martin was bom in Oud-Alb!as. Holland on Sept. 14, 1915, the youngest in a family of four boys and one girl. At the age of 23, he immigrated to Punnicky, Saskatchewan, where he homesteaded with his twin brother Harry. Two years later, he returned to Holland to marry Catherine van der Velden whom he loved, cherished and cared for for 66 years. Together they returned to Saskatchewan to f^rm. Their two oldest children, Gerry and John were bom there. In 1946 they returned to Holland. They found that conditions there had changed. After the drowning death of their daughter, they returned to Canada and settled in Ontario, where Nellie, Gerald and David were bom. In choosing a place to settle, Martin was less concerned about the quality of the land than the presence of a community of faith that would provide spiritual nurture for his family. Martin was very active in various capacities of faith-oriented organizations - especially the Gideons. Martin served on the board of Gay Lea Foods for an extended period of time and was involved in various farm-related organizations. Martin will be sadly missed by his wife Catherine, his children John and wife Mary, Nellie Booker and husband Howard, Gerald and wife Doreen and David and wife Dianne. Special Grandpa will be missed by Steve and Teresa Baan, Don and Monique Baan, Heather and Richard Gerber. Mark and Becky Booker. Anna and Jim Raddon, Jonathon and Lauren Booker, Joel and Wesley Booker, Christine and Richard Snyder. Jeremy Baan, Kim and Brent Battler. Jason and Erin Baan, Charmaine and Manny Berenguei. Also missing great-grandpa are Allison, Scott and Craig Baan. Ryan. Adam and Emma Baan, Jordan and Jamie Gerber, Nathaniel and Eva Booker, Grace and Erin Raddon, Matthew. Kristie and Daniel Snyder, Owen Battler and Cadi Baan. Martin was predeceased by his parents, daughter Gerry, three brothers and one sister. Friends were received from 2-4 and 7 - 9 p.m. Friday at the Schimanski Family Funeral Home, Brussels. The funeral service was conducted Saturday, Oct. 1 at 2 p.m. from Brussels Mennonite Fellowship, 250 Princess St., Brussels with Pastor Brent Kipfer officiating. Pallbearers were grandsons Don Baan, Jason Baan, Steve Baan, Jeremy Baan, Joel Booker, and Mark Booker. Interment was in Brussels Cemetery. (Psalm 116:15) GAVIN JOHN VADER With heavy hearts we must say goodbye to our son, Gavin John, before we’ve even had a chance to say hello. His arrival was anticipated with much love and happiness; then smothered in sadness and sorrow. His absence will be felt by his parents Mike and Lori Vader, his brother Anthony and his sister Jasmine, his grandparents Jane and Lome Draper of Brussels and Jack and Jane Vader of Barrie and great- grandparents John and Catherine Vader of Guelph. A private service was conducted from Melville Presbyterian Church, Brussels, on Tuesday, Oct. 4 with Rev. Cathrine Campbell officiating. She was 26. She was the daughter of Susan O’Hagan and mother of Natasha Bradley-O’Hagan both of Tumberry Estates. She was the twin sister of Laura O’Hagan of St. Catharines and sister of Mary Beth Weskett of London. Sarah Ann was the aunt of Courtney, Zach, Alexander and Bethany. She is also survived by her grandparents Jack and Marilyn Clark of London and by her uncle Steven and Terry Clark of Hillsburgh. Her father Reginald O’Hagan predeceased her in 2003. Visitation was at McBurney Funeral Home, Wingham on Sunday from 2 - 4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service was held at the Wingham Pentecostal Church on Monday at 1 p.m. Pastor Timothy Bjorkman officiated. Interment was in Wingham Cemetery. Memorial donations to Natasha Bradley-O’Hagan Trust Fund would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. BONNIE ELIZABETH WHITTARD Bonnie Elizabeth Whittard lost her battle with breast cancer on Sept, 'll, 2005 in Toronto. She was 49. Bonnie was the loved daughter of Bush Whittard and dear sister of Kenneth and Frederick Whittard. She was predeceased by her mother Winnifred, her step-mother Lois and two nephews, Bevan and Collin (1989). Cremation has taken place. Interment of ashes will be at a later date in Brussels Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy dontions may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
