own Walton will be the centre of
attention as national television will
begin broadcasting the TransCan
motocross to approximately 17
million homes worldwide.

played 18 holes with John Scotty

81. He was followed by Ron Rae,

tied with 86 and Murray Rae with
an 88.
In the ladies division Mrs.
Marjorie McKenney and her guest
Mrs. M. Jacobs of London tied for
first place.
The longest drive competition
was won by John Brent.

turned out some 20 strong. Mark
Fenton’s 41 was the best score of
series whose broadcast coverage is
rapidly expanding.
The broadcast will feature some
motocross heroes including Dusty
Klatt, Craig Decker and Gavin
Gracyk and will begin airing at 1
p.m.

Walton Brewers
The Walton Brewers finished their
year by participating in the year-end
tournament in Exeter.
They started off with a game
against Wroxeter and Steve
Leonhardt earned the 5-3 win.
Their second game was against
the Goderich Orioles and went nine
innings. Larry Lowes started
pitching and was relieved by Scott
Leonhardt. Unfortunately. Walton
suffered a 5-4 loss
In game three. Walton faced the
ABCA hosts annual
Bannockburn Fall Hike
On Sunday. Oct. 2, the Ausable
Bayfield Conservation Authority
(ABCA) will be hosting the annual
Bannockburn Fall Hike from 2 p.m
4 p.m. This will be the 32nd year
lor the hike and will feature
interpretation of the natural areas
along the trail by volunteer members
ol the Friends of the Bayfield River.

features dominant tree cover, which
is perfect scenery for admiring the
tall colours. Nestled in the valley is

Kingfisher, woodpecker, beaver,
while tailed deer and snowshoe

win. Matt Shortreed had a homerun
and Scott Leonardt pitched the

In a true double knockout. Walton
now had a long road ahead to go all
the way. Sunday's game against
Atwood proved too much and they
suffered a 5-0 loss to end their
year.

winners Steve Knight and Steve
Leonhardt.

between Varna and Brucefield.
There is no charge for the event,
but donations are welcome in
support of preserving this natural
wildlife area. For further details
