On Tuesday the fed steers and heifers sold at prices $1 lower. Choice steers and heifers sold $89 to $95 with sales to $104.25. Second-cut steers and heifers sold $86 to $88. The cows traded on a steady market. On Thursday the veal sold on an active trade with prices remaining steady. The lambs sold on a strong active trade with prices steady to last week. On Friday all weights and classes of Stockers sold on a steady market. There were 608 steers on offer. Walter Riddel, Granton, consigned two black steers averaging 1,375 lbs. which sold for $104.25. His overall offering of nine steers averaged 1,377 lbs. selling for an average price of $96.93. Twenty steers con­ signed by Jim Howatt, Londesborough, averaged 1,507 lbs. which sold for an average price of $92.86 with his top black steer weighing 1,415 lbs. selling for $100.25. Dave Bender, Palmerston, consigned one limousin steer weigh­ ing 1,175 lbs. which sold to Highland Packers Ltd. for $97.25. One limousin steer consigned by Murray Rennick, Monkton, weighed 1,110 lbs. which sold for $97. Bill Kerslake, Staffa, consigned nineteen steers averaging 1,457 lbs. which sold for an average price of $96.61 with his top six limousin steers aver­ aging 1,472 lbs. selling for $98.75. Thirty-nine steers consigned by Mark B. Martin, Alma, averaged 1,378 lbs. selling for an average price of $92.92 with his top eight limousin steers averaging 1,301 lbs. selling for $95.25. Hugh Love, Atwood, consigned one limousin steer weighing 1,310 lbs. which sold to Dominion Meat Packers for $100. His overall offer­ ing of twenty steers averaged 1,418 lbs. selling for an average price of $92.50. Eighteen steers consigned by Jim Wilson, Lucknow, averaged 1,436 lbs. which sold for an average price of $92.09 with his top two red steers averaging 1,405 lbs. selling to Highland Packers Ltd. for $95.25. Maynard B. Martin, Drayton, con­ signed one blonde steer weighing 1,295 lbs. which sold to Norval Packers Ltd. for $95.75. His overall offering of nine steers averaged 1,356 lbs. selling for an average price of $92.01. Ten steers con­ signed by Murray Wagg, Mitchell, averaged 1,297 lbs. selling for an average price of $88.83 with his top limousin steer weighing 1,385 lbs. selling for $96.75. There were 290 heifers on offer. Melvin Bearinger, Mount Forest, consigned four limousin heifers averaging 1,268 lbs. which sold for $99.25. His overall offering of fifty- three heifers averaged 1,291 lbs. selling for an average price of $93.01. Eighteen charolais heifers consigned by Sellers Farms, Bluevale, averaged 1,340 lbs. selling for an average price of $92.02 with sales to $97.25. Floyd Bearinger. Three charolais heifers consigned by Walter Farms Ltd., Mildmay, aver­ aged 1,092 lbs. selling for an aver­ age price of $88.25 with sales to $96. There were 216 cows on offer. DI and D2 cows sold $35 to $45 with sales to $52.50; D3, $30 to $35; D4, $15 to $25. Charles Mattice, Hagersville. consigned four beef cows averaging 1,298 lbs. which sold for an average price of $35.43 with sales to $47. One limousin cow consigned by Jeff Moffatt, Wingham, weighed 1,855 lbs. which sold for $46.50. Bruggert Farms, Clinton, consigned one holstein cow weighing 1,035 lbs. which sold for $44.50. There were 20 bulls on offer sell­ ing $25 to $58.50 with sales to $70. Arnott Wright, Moorefield, con­ signed one Pied bull weighing 1,750 lbs. which sold to Dominion Meat Packers for $70. One black bull con­ signed by D & M Farms, Listowel, weighed 1,990 lbs. selling for $58.50. There were 175 head of veal on offer. Beef sold $105 to $110 with sales to $122; good holstein, $85 to $95 with sales to $100; medium hol­ stein, $75 to $80; heavy holstein sold $85 to $90. Eric Nonkes, Auburn, consigned one limousin veal steer weighing 655 lbs. which sold to Abingdon Meat Packers for $122. One blonde veal heifer con­ signed by John Martin, Lucknow, weighed 720 lbs. selling to Newmarket Meat Packers for $118. George Ducharme, Dashwood, con­ signed one black veal steer weighing 680 lbs. which sold to Newmarket Meat Packers for $117. Lambs under 50 lbs. sold $145 to $160; 50 - 64 lbs., $145 to $195; 65 - 79 lbs., $143 to $171; 80 - 94 lbs., $136 to $155; 95 - 109 lbs., $141 to $151; 110 lbs. and over, $125 to $144. Sheep sold $53 to $63. Goats sold $22 to $200.
