The first annual family gathering was held at the home of Amy and Ralph McCrea on Saturday, Aug. 19. Guests included Irene and Jim Lamoni, Mike, Donelda, Shawn. Chris and Matthew Cottrill, all of Belgrave, Dale and Colleen Lamont of London. Doug and Betty Jean McCrea of St. Thomas, Brad and Maureen Montgomery of Hullett Twp., Bradley and Ryan Montgomery of Winthrop and friend Peter Hoonaard of Morris Twp. and a special guest Nancy Beatty who is starring in the play The Thirteenth One. Even though the weather didn’t co-operate everyone had a good time. The Edgar clan held its annual summer pool party at the home of Joanne, Richard. Amanda and Nick Cortes in Tavistock. Everyone enjoyed the food, the pool and the games, especially a new game of stickless golf. Those attending were Irlma Edgar. Donna. Jesus Bids Us Shine, was sung. The children were told how Moses was put in a reed basket in the river to save his life and how the Pharaoh's daughter found the baby and raised him in the palace. Every ministry is very different but we all have a purpose that God has designed tor us. she said. Il is all in the Bible Today's church is changing from the church of years ago but the purpose is the same. Christians can discover what God wants them to do through the scriptures in the Bible.FROM BLYTH Break-in to park snack shack On Aug. 20 at 8 a.m. OPP were called to the Blyth Lions Snack Shack at the ball diamonds just off of Gypsy Lane. An officer attended the Blyth arena park to find that through the night someone had forced open the door to the shack and removed the fire extinguisher and discharged it outside. The empty tank was then thrown onto one of the ball diamond infields. Damage had also occurred in the Thresher's Park behind the arena. This time a wooden panel box cover was ripped off exposing hydro wires. In total $630 of damage was done to the door and panel box in the park area. Tuesday morning, the Thresher Association camping chair discovered the doors of Sheds 1 and 2 had been forced open. They tried to break into the log house but didn’t succeed. The Association's big event, the Reunion is being held in two weeks. If you can help the OPP solve this crime call the local OPP or Crime Stoppers with your tip. Hot dog! Kurtis Kolkman tended to the grill at the food booth during the Mite ball tournament in Blyth this past Saturday. The booth was a fundraiser for the Grade 8 trip. TRY CLASSIFIED 1-877-5 13-5333 Blyth Area Farmers' Market Tailgate stolen On Aug. 17 at 2:30 p.m. a theft occurred from a shed on Hamilton Street in Blyth. The officer learned that a person left a tailgate inside an open shed a month ago. Sometime since a person entered the shed and walked away with a red tailgate for a 2002 Ford pickup truck. Corner of Queen & Dinsley Streets On Aug. 18 at approximately 2:30 a.m. an alarm was activated at the Blyth Inn located on Queen Street in Blyth. Officers arrived to find that someone had entered the building through a window. Once inside the thieves stole a quantity of alcohol. They also located cash that was hidden inside the facility. The wedding took place at the Blyth Lions Park. Family and friends celebrated the event in the park. The matron of honour was Julie Shannon, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Kristen Oster, Jen Stothers, Jackie Stothers, Melissa Black and Rachel deBoer. The best man was Andrew Schenk, brother of the groom. The groomsmen were Jed Erb, Jay King, Dave Beihn, Dean Wilson and Darryl Shannon. Thank you to family and wedding party for all their hard work. Thank you to Leslie Cook who performed the ceremony. Thank you to Jackie Falconer who sang Evergreen during the service. Thank you also to Don Scrimgeour who was a great master of ceremonies.
